Just finished binge watching this last night...excellent.

Was on holiday last week near Chipping Norton so called in at the Diddly Squat farm shop.
Was Lisa working at the shop? Or is that just for the telly cameras.

One thing I don’t understand, Clarkson has in the past made it very clear he dislikes interaction with fans, then to post the farm shop opening all over social media and be surprised by the uptake.

Would I go out of my way to visit Didley Squat farm shop, no, there are plenty of good farm shops up and down the country. I’m a big fan of Clarkson, TG, TGT, and his other TV output and also his books. I thought Clarkson’s farm was great.

I just thought it a bit weird, that he would go out of his way to identify where he lives!
Money. Everything costs money. He doesn't want to run the farm at a loss, and he has looked at all the posh farm shops he himself shops at, looked at the prices they get away with, and thought I'll have some of that.

And he enjoys making telly programmes, it's what he is good at..

His new house which is near to completion, pictured below, will I imagine be far enough away from the farm shop.

It’s a 2 minute drive down the road

Looks like a slave-owning Southern plantation residence.

What were you expecting? A static caravan?

His new book came out a couple of days ago. I'm enjoying it so far as it is pretty much a diary of the farm. You can see why the farmers love him even more so with it all in print.

Jesus. For all the piss taking he does out of the likes of the Rooneys, Kerry Katona etc that doesn't half look like a tacky celeb mansion. I would have thought he'd have better taste.

She wasn't there when we went....I bought my lad (6ft 3") a Diddly Squat "T" shirt for Christmas, as he liked the programme.

Yeah... I agree, first thing I thought, its well out of place in this country, particularly in that location. I would have expected better of him.

Exactly my thoughts. It looks like a rent-a-mansion. Completely unoriginal boring rectangular design.

Given the lovely farmhouse he has been living in I was expecting something with a tiny bit more character to it.

Like it or not, it is very much in keeping with local grand houses

His farm was originally part of the Sarsden Estate

and there's more than a passing resemblance.

The quality of the materials and build quality is also a step above the usual London incomer's efforts.

Not convinced on the balcony, but there are worst crimes.

If you want vulgar, have a look at his neighbours effort to the North West, that is a vile edifice on the skyline. Virtually opposite the shop.

Meh, his money and I don't have to look at it.

I'm just not a fan of dull, unimaginative boxes. Whether that's a £300k Redrow effort, or a £5m mansion.

(needless to say, he's a long way in front of me smile )

Agreed. It looks too much like a footballers mansion.

Yep, beat me to it.

From the planning application 'it will be a modest country house/gentrified farmhouse which gives the appearance of having grown over time'

That place is neither modest or gentrified.
