LOKI - Marvel's best TV Series To Date?

I was hoping for a bit more from the final episode, even if the series has been renewed. Not a great deal seemed to happen really.
My thoughts too. Whole thing was a bit meh. Felt like a more watery ending than Wandavision, where at least we got closure on AH. Began rolling my eyes when Sylvie and Loki started their over choreographed fight over killing "he who remains". I'm presuming this is the setup for Multiverse of Madness, which will hopefully validate both Wanda and Loki's standalone series', but I can't help but feel the best parts of Loki were the first two episodes, and the universal easter eggs in E05. Also annoyed we never got to see Mobius on his jetski, after all that. robemcdonald said:
so they were trying to figure out how to finish it and someone said "the ending of the Matrix was good do that"
Unfortunately the writers watched Matrix Reloaded by mistake and we are treated to a forty minute "Architect" scene...
I've not seen Black Widow yet, but am starting to think Marvel have lost their touch...
I watched it earlier and thought exactly the same. Awful. That makes all 3 of the Disney Plus shows a serious miss for me thus far. The season finale was boring. Black Widow was poor as well.Unfortunately the writers watched Matrix Reloaded by mistake and we are treated to a forty minute "Architect" scene...

So Kang then. Or a version of him. Immortus? Surprised they brought in that character outside of a major movie. I suspect he’s going to be rather important going forward with different versions popping everywhere as the next phases Big Bad to replace Thanos. The multiverse is open now though so they got all the options they want, easy to rustle up a few dead-Avenger cameos now.

Did they write an entire series just to set up the next phase? That's what it felt to me.
Feel like the content is suffering because of the constant teeing up for the next thing. Original MCU post credit scenes were a little tongue in cheek in a sort of ‘if this film does well this may happen’ way, but now it’s just agiven the whole thing will continue. Cool that everything is a part of something but not for those who want to see a whole thing occasionally rather than a part.aparna said:
What’s is this phase four thing people keep alluding to?
It’s how Marvel organises it’s cinema films. Phase 1 was six films culminating in Avengers Assemble. Phase 2 led to Age of Ultron. Phase 3 rounded off with Infinity War and Endgame (with a Spider-Man film as an epilogue). So next comes phase 4. Phase 4 needs a new big villain plus new characters. It looks like some origin stories and other bits of set up for phase 4 are being done via the TV series.
It seems the big cinema releases are still designed so they can be enjoyed as a stand alone film, but you’ll get more out of them as part of the ongoing MCU. The Disney+ shows clearly assume viewers are already familiar with the wider universe, which is fair. All the related content is available as part of the subscription, and they even help you by grouping them under related headings. If you really don’t want to watch anything else from the MCU, then you probably aren’t going to enjoy them.
The dedication to a shared universe might make some of the projects less good than they might be, but it’s a sacrifice worth making to give us an ‘entertainment product’ that we’ve never seen before.

Will BJ be a character?

The Multiverse was originally categorized and protected by Merlyn, who established the Captain Britain Corps. Most realities have a Captain Britain designated to protect its version of the British Isles and in extension the reality, thanks to an omniversal dimensional nexus situated in a tower on the shores of the United Kingdom.
So, the finale.
Pretty meh for me. Definitely heavy Matrix Reloaded vibes, mind bending "don't think about it too much or it makes no sense" logic. The entire episode was basically a setup for season 2 so I presume they knew they had it in the bag for some time.
The difference between Hiddleston's real hair vs the wig he had on before he teleported into the desert is irritating me more than it ought to.
I don't totally buy the chemistry between Sylvie and Loki, something about it feels a bit inert.
There is something to be said generally I think about how much you can really get invested in anything if it can all be undone or warped via the whole "multiverse" thing. The conceit of the show undermines some of the pathos in other events that we've seen. That is a bit of a minor gripe though, as Loki was always an enjoyable character to watch so I'll basically buy in to any reason for him existing after his death.
I'm not as hooked on it as I hoped I would be.

The basic premise of the show wasn't bad - quite clever in fact - but it was horribly written. Given that they had some great actors and an iconic MCU Villain to work with, they really messed it up bad and completely failed to deliver on the potential of the characters and the concept and just delivered a turgid mess. But, they were fully compliant with their identity politics messaging and that's what counts these days with studios and the media, apparently.Pretty meh for me.
