If anyone saw the video of the nobhed driving at like 100mph in a residential 30mph zone, I'm pleased to say that he's just written off his McLaren 765LT and no one was hurt.

He then ran away from the scene of the crash.
If only there'd been some sort of warning he drove like a tool that the Police could have investigated to stop this from happening, I don't know, like a video he took of himself doing twice the limit in his Porsche filmed one-handed with his face and speedo in clear view..........that he uploaded to his own Instagram account.......

Couldn't have happened to a nicer person, glad no one else was involved but it's still the taxpayer that has to pick up the bill for the damage to the roadway.

The insurers will get a big bill for any damage

Social media and 'influencers' are slowly destroying society.

I thought my mate was joking when he told me about a chap who sells potatoes out of a trailer and live streams it on TikTok. People actually watch the live streams and will queue up for hours for a fking potato!

Not really much different to Clarkson's farm is it? People driving hours to buy something that they could have bought at any one of a number of farm shops they would have passed on the way, just because they know who it is...

I'll admit that I follow the potato guy on socials.. something strangely compelling about his reels / content. I couldn't tell you what it is either.

Also.. if I were to be setting up any B2C business these days, having a highly viral approach to social media would be my number 1 marketing strategy.

He's posting from a European country and appears to be driving another one already (maybe rented).

So must've fled the country.

The Mansory stuff on the wraith that Mat has shown this evening just looks really awful and tacky with outrageous price tag to match
His channel goes hand in glove with Mansory. Matsory's channel is about nil class and a 'don't care about purity' mentality. If it looks ok, it is ok, in his mind. Except, Mansory epitomise the total dereliction of applying basic logic to car accessorising. All show, no go. This generation of 'influencers' and millennial nobodys couldn't care less about integrity, it's all about the clicky clickys and likey likeys...... UTTER...UTTER...TRASH.

He'd be better off basing himself in Dubai... he'd fit right in.

Jesus, I cant believe how worked up people get over something they literally don't have to watch or take any notice of.

It's all subjective isn't it? I'm sure some wouldn't like your car choices or taste, not sure it warrants getting this upset about. When compared to some 'influencers' at least Matt had talent to start with (BMX) and has created probably the fastest growing UK automotive youtube channel over the last three years.

And what the hell has integrity got to do with a body kit on a car?!

So, the insurance either decided not to pay out or sold to auction so to not make it a cat B?
What sort of speed would one have to go to cause that much damage though!

I quite agree.

Interesting how the hate on here directly correlates to someone’s success on YouTube.

Very odd. The real reg seems to be LF22AWX https://twitter.com/hstikkytokky4/status/176357572...

Why it was driving around on the other plate is beyond comprehension.

Am I the only one who sees echoes of Ruby Rod in many of these influencers? smile

Pure jealousy. It's YouTube who gives a stuff about "purity" whatever that's supposed to mean. I think it's very unfair to call his integrity into question quite the opposite Matt looks to have a lot of integrity to me. I don't really like the actual cars with the exception of the 360 but they work very well for YouTube and the story telling and content is top notch. Why not just be proud of a really great UK export that's doing really well around the world. All the team that are on the show look like nice people to me and it's a shame that success in this country has to breeds hate in this way.

Top Dead Center have got their 911 up and running.

I haven't watched the video yet because they still don't show up on my Youtube home screen but I've seen it on AutoAlex's instagram stories.
Fair play to the lads, didn't look like an easy job.

Strictly speaking it was the auto electricians and over 6 hours to splice a section of loom in that got it running.

They are much more toned-down than the main Auto Alex channel, but it's still a very tired format that's hard to get excited about. Buy car (with "what have we done?" thumbnail), take car to specialist for appraisal (with "how much???" thumbnail), and fix car up (with various OTT thumbnails ranging from excitement to exasperation). Surely the market for this kind of content is already saturated?

Think a lot of it comes down to personalities. As you say the market for such content is saturated, but I watch TDC, Mat Armstrong and Salvage Rebuilds because of the personality of the hosts. Latest RR build Mat is doing, I find the Mansory RR awful with no redeeming features, yet I'll watch it because of the enthusiasm of Mat and the team. I tried watching a chap rebuild a Transit a while back but found it as dull as ditch water so gave up. Yet if Salvage Rebuilds were doing it I'm sure I'd have watched every video.
