They are much more toned-down than the main Auto Alex channel, but it's still a very tired format that's hard to get excited about. Buy car (with "what have we done?" thumbnail), take car to specialist for appraisal (with "how much???" thumbnail), and fix car up (with various OTT thumbnails ranging from excitement to exasperation). Surely the market for this kind of content is already saturated?

Think a lot of it comes down to personalities. As you say the market for such content is saturated, but I watch TDC, Mat Armstrong and Salvage Rebuilds because of the personality of the hosts. Latest RR build Mat is doing, I find the Mansory RR awful with no redeeming features, yet I'll watch it because of the enthusiasm of Mat and the team. I tried watching a chap rebuild a Transit a while back but found it as dull as ditch water so gave up. Yet if Salvage Rebuilds were doing it I'm sure I'd have watched every video.

I'd agree with this but at the same time I still enjoy it. Something about taking a worn out, beat up car and bringing it back to life is satisfying to me. Or the struggle having watched them spend 3 videos putting the car back together just for them to fail the MOT and need to start again. Maybe I'm just weird though.

Would be interesting to see if there is another variation on the content. I'd agree another 'buy a shed and fix it' channel would be redundant.

I get the feeling that the main Auto Alex channel wants to be the next Top Gear (Road trips, 3 sheds drive to X challenge)
TDC is the more sensible buy / fix up channel
V2 is the small snippet videos that don't live anywhere else (Podcast snippets, Taylor mini series etc..)

I can absolutely see Ethan being a behind the scenes guy helping filming / (He always was really) and Jack could add to any / all channels.

I guess there has to be an ROI though. Can't just add two guys and not see a bump in views / productivity.

I can't imagine the HPI check people are going to keep paying them more money for adverts to the same audience, so they will need to get creative.

Personally I avoid Alex's main channel, sometimes its ok but mostly it's childish crap. V2 With Taylor is more sensible whenever he does his own repairs/rebuilds and CT until it died was enjoyable and with TDC basically becoming the new CT almost, I've subbed to them instead of CT.

The Mansory stuff on the wraith that Mat has shown this evening just looks really awful and tacky with outrageous price tag to match.
I really like the content Matt puts out he seems like a real nice fella
just not sure on the Mansory stuff that I have seen on different vehicles just looks very Halfords with a outrageous price tag

I agree, but many are built to order and made to what the owner wants, if you want a bright yellow RR with loads of carbon on it and a pink interior and you have the money, why not, different people like different things.

Some of the cars are more subtle like this Bentley, I think this looks pretty smart. Pictures from the Mansory website.

I have never watched Mat Armstrong before, the only people I have watched doing these rebuilds are Tavarish McLaren P1 and Houston Crosta Bugatti Veyron.

Both are going to be keeping the cars, Tavarish McLaren P1 is going to be like a GTR no hybrid with bigger turbos and the Houston Crosta Bugatti Veyron has been rebuilt with pretty much all OEM parts and a custom interior and iirc RWD conversion.

Tavarish flood-damaged McLaren P1 paid $575,000 - cheapest on James Edition $1,200,000 - going to keep it.
Houston flood-damaged Bugatti Veyron paid $400,000 - cheapest on James Edition $1,500,000 - going to keep it.
Armstrong crashed Mansory Wrath paid $230,000 - cheapest on James Edition $480,000 - sell for profit.

The Veyron is the one crashed into the lake that went viral and has a pretty famous story and had been only really flooded, there wasn't any structural damage and has been rebuilt with pretty much OEM parts, new custom interior and a Bugatti dealer has checked the car over, doesn't need to sell the car, he has another Veyron and loads of money, no total amount spent on the rebuild has been given yet.

The P1 was floating about after a hurricane hit not as famous as the Veyron, having a new carbon body, new custom interior, no hybrid, there was some structural damage to the carbon rtub but it's been repaired, doesn't need to sell the car and wants to keep it, no total amount spent on the rebuild has been given yet.

Wrath, written off in a crash by an okay footballer, needs to have OEM parts put back on the car, and has structural damage, seemingly going to buy an older Wrath ($110,000) for parts, Mat may make a profit if it's raffled off, but nobody is going be able to run the car and maybe end up being sold t a rental company but they wouldn't pay more than whatever the cheapest Wrath is, and if no insurance will cover due to the damage the car has had, the car is worthless.

I think he is far smarter the internet gives him credit for. He is going to exploit the Radhford connection. As others have said it’s already getting reported on in the online gutters. The Intreage of previously unreported crash will just exacerbate it all. Driving big numbers to the channel. And mat looks good as he made a donation to fare share. He’s looking at the long game. The raffle. And I reckon the Mail online will publish when that goes live.

Yep the Mansory add ons look a little odd, but i have never liked the composite carbon fibre thing.
When it gets to a couple of grand for a badge you are just pandering to those with too much money eg footballers!
