Maybe it would be better to treat it in the way, say, Linus Tech Tips does it, with a separately-recorded sponsor message to draw a distinction between the content and the advert?.
If he did that you can skip past it and I'm sure a YouTuber has said in the past that YT can tell if you do that. If he weaves it into the narrative you're less likely to skip past the bit that helps pay the bills. I watched TDC finishing the Porsche earlier, BC coilovers, ditchfinders and a trip to the ring all ticked off.TDC
All the Gear
Currently on the way to Bruges. How many times have they been to Bruges or the Nurburgring recently...........
Jack was in the background working on the 924 they built on CT so guessing that will be going
However I will not be watching another ring or Bruges trip video.

They definitely need to make an effort to differentiate between the channels (there's also the 'v2' channel within the group) so it is not just the same sort of content but with different main presenters (and the same comrades in the background).I quite like 996 though. It would be good to see a road trip to somewhere new but I understand that a ring trip is 'easy' and good for views.
Maybe the 'all the gear' channel might widen their horizons.

It may well develop over time but if I was looking to set up the empire Alex has, you'd want to have a business hat on and work out what the niche of each channel will be.
Eg. one doing dirt cheap purchase/rebuild/rag
One doing sympathetic oem style restoration perhaps
One with features on modern cars/reviews etc etc
Otherwise it will get confusing quickly with the amount of crossover and viewer fatigue will set in 3x as fast.
Still, I've given them a sub as they are ultimately nice guys and I would like to see them do well. The intro video did remind me a bit of The Fast Show's "Brilliant" guy
Totally agree. I have subbed and really do hope they all do well as all seem genuinely nice guys but also hope its not re hashed on each channel "oh that did well we will do it on our channel" type thing.Eg. one doing dirt cheap purchase/rebuild/rag

I think you have completely misunderstood what he was saying. The Audi engine blew at high revs shortly after being remapped. Was the remap the cause of the failure? Maybe it was but mat took 100% of the blame himself rather than suggest the map contributed to it.
You're right, I misread the tone of the post, apologies to whoever it was. Kev_Mk3 said:

I really like the four guys who've recently joined. Their style is a lot more relaxed and informal, and they tend not to get too OTT. I just hope whatever plan they have is actually viable to keep them all employed. I assume there is no actual employment taking place, and everyone is working as a freelancer?
The key to the whole enterprise will be down to having someone in the team that is a good enough salesman to bring in decent brand deals and sponsorships now they have plenty of content to promote things on.

Ignore them, this thread is a jealousy Cesspool.Just enjoy the fact that we now get so much decent car content. If you don’t like it move on, rather than angrily glaring at whatever device you are typing on, you’ll live longer.
The fact that Mat comes in here to comment is awesome, I bloody wouldn’t!

Why is anyone who objects to this infantile clickbait style of content promotion automatically labelled as jealous?
Why are you in a thread about car youtubers at all then? They all do it to a degree, every single one. If you can't believe what one says, you can't believe any of them.I just watch the videos and enjoy them, ignore the adverts, the sponsors, the clickbait titles etc.
No wonder the likes of Mat don't bother coming in here much, imagine if you had a thread on the internet slagging you off daily for making some videos about cars!

Is it just me, but did that white 996 look like it’s had a full on detailing? Paintwork looks amazing. Don’t know why they wouldn’t show that being done
It was probably done by Viking Detail who does all of AutoAlex's cars. Even if they showed it being done, you'd have the moaners on this thread complaining that it's a rehash of the AutoAlex format and they're not doing anything new. They really can't win.

Yes the car looks pretty decent, but I would be focussed on the bent chasis rather than the paintwork!(Typical You Tube priorities)

Wow! Some comments from people are crazy in here. I knew I wasn’t going to win either way but I didn’t realise people would think it was a fake crash!
No need to over-egg it. You've clearly got the attention you wanted. At least Mat though accepts it’s his fault hands up yep I can’t drive this !
