I think that anyone that does not need to do it, such as Jay leno and Harry, come across slighly different because there is less pressure on them to get xx views etc

''Oh look here's my 30th car that I will drive once then stick in a garage, how great am I'''. vomit

When the 12 year old kids move on, I do wonder who watches all the videos.

I get the impression that those 12 year olds are already moving on, TimShmeee’s channels sound like they are very much at the plateau/stale stages and he is trying to retain numbers with all his recent appearances on bigger channels.

Is he also caught in the trap of not being able to change the magic formula but being creatively bored with it all?

Just from reading this thread it seems popularity has very much shifted to some other fresher content.

Is there a list of non vomit inducing vloggers?

Harry Metcalfe
Jay Leno
Doug 'the details' DeMuro
Carwow Matt is pretty funny
...
The Stradman
Henry Catchpole.

I can't remember what his channel is called but I've definitely seen a few videos of his on there.

Always like Jayemms videos, invaluable for me at times when deciding what next.

Zygrene even though he's a yank, I tend to find his videos enjoyable and informative.

Stef abtv, it's Joel, number 27, Calvin's car diary, hagerty are a few others I watch and enjoy.

Catchpole, who is great, is on Hagerty, alongside other stuff. He used to be on Carfection which seems to have ended.

One thing this thread has taught us is that though we all share and interest in cars, what makes one of us vomit is quite different from what makes others vomit. Or vice versa. And most of us tend not to like content which funds an expensive lifestyle.

Definitely agree there. I checked out Kidd in a sweet shop but it appears to be all supercars and hypercars so I've not bothered watching yet. Give me real world cars that average people can have a shot of affording anyday.

Salvage Rebuilds is a good one. Again, its a vlog of their job they were doing anyway.

Tyrrell's Classic Workshop is my new favorite, really well presented and very calm approach to his videos and an excellent mix of older classics. Really knowledgeable on all his videos especially the nuance stuff.

The thing is, most vloggers are at risk of becoming stale.

Shmee buys another car.
STG goes to buy another fking coffee.
Mat Armstrong buys another wreck, rebuilds it and then chavs it up to 11.
Hoovie buys a car and takes it to The Wizard who does all the work on it and then Hoovie buys something else.
Tavarish sweeps the floor in his unit. Again.

Then there are those who have variety 'built in'. Invariably they review, or talk about cars, but those can be new, old, expensive or cheap.

Not sure if they come up often in this thread but Savagegeese produce some incredible content, check out their Lexus LFA and 991 GT3 reviews. In my mind the perfect balance of technical content, high production value and fun factor. Although they tend to review cars for the US market hence they would be less popular here. You've also got Throttle House and The Straight Pipes who do car reviews but with their own unique twists on entertainment

Totally agree. I caught a 10sec clip of Shmee, another cars. Same with Archive Hamalton. All very dull and repetitive now.

Im starting to drift off on to other things like how rockets work, or sunken wrecks, or ...... and this was so interesting.... how nuclear bombs work. tongue out)

Ashville was my go to fav but that's dull too.

I saw that Archie Hamilton had moved his ABT RS3-R on already. What a surprise - in fact I wonder if he ever even paid for the conversion and it wasn’t just funded by Richter Sport as their demo car.

Now he’s getting a new RS6 Performance in a few weeks, with some supporting bks about it being the last ICE RS6, limited run (no it isn’t), special car etc. Which I’m sure he’ll keep for about a month.

But oh no, it’s also going to become an ABT RS6-R, so once again this is most likely a load of ste and it’s Richter’s car.

He’s still got the X5M which I’m sure will go when that arrives, and ‘one of the first new M2’s in the UK’ coming too. Which once again, is black/black/black. How incredibly dull.

Probably my favourite channel in terms of seeing someone do really high quality work on their own interesting, attainable cars. It helps that I like BMWs too.

LegitStreetCars is very much in the same vein, although it might seem hard to make that argument now he's bought a McLaren.

I just can't imagine how anyone can watch more than 5min of this kind of output.

Just looking at Schmee on social blade, 170k, videos views down nearly 6 million a month in two years.

Does anyone really believe without being very rich yourself, all this is done off the back on a channel. I'm sure he said he had a big team as well. Running a channel at a loss to tell people how rich you are, that is pretty desperate and sad.

Archie Hamilton is just so fking annoying, I just can't watch the bloke at all. His voice is like nails down a blackboard.

I'm not sure even the most interesting and engaging host could make such bland content interesting.

I've watched Tim for years and admired the graft. A video a day on average for a decade is impressive and regardless of where the money comes from he works hard. This style.. you either like or don't horses for courses..... however...

I myself am really wondering how it's all funded (Why do I care? I don't know but I do). His last video on the LaF was a huge hint towards him being on the list for the LaF replacement. He's also spent (Literally) millions with Ferrari over the last 24 months. He's had 2x GTCs, an SF90, 296 and Purosandwich on the way... the LaF video he basically admitted that it is the ultimate supercar brand and wants a huge collection etc..

And that's just Ferrari, what about all of the others, the barn, the staff etc..

It simply doesn't add up any more especially as he rarely does in video ads.

Back to the question why do I care? Well because the whole premise of his story has been hard work and built from nothing. Selling mobile phone accessories then launching the channel etc.. It doesn't make sense to me any more.
