I really enjoyed it.
So did I, but like another poster I think they need to cover new stories and new characters rather than backfilling plot elements from the film. We see "Darth" and Obi-Wan fighting but we know they're both going to be OK unless George Lucas meddles with ANH and writes them out of it. rider73 said:
The "kids show thing" - this is really what i dont understand - why spend oooooodles amount of money on live action, if its going to be aimed at kids - there is/has been a ton of Star Wars "kids" animation, that has all the big characters in it, and has been done exceptionally well.....
if your going to bring back live action Vader, Obi Wan, make it worth its while - make it add some value to the characters and the story arc as a whole.... it doesnt have to have gore or violence, it just needs to deal with themes that are relatable. I for one liked the guilt that obi wan had, but it was just a tiny thread in a gigantic mess or nonsense.....
this i feel failed on all counts - it was sloppy writing throughout and i feel sloppy direction too.
i mean can you imagine the table reads for these episodes and anyone who cared about star wars thinking it was good ?
Ewan McGregor : I wish we'd done a better job with the prequels, so lets read a bit of this episode.....ok so darth vader finds me on a planet and pulls me into the flames, love it, then....errrrr i escape, because what, he then decided NOT to pull me into the flames, he just stands there.....errr ok...
Writers : yeah yeah, good isnt it, you get your sabers out and everything.........
Ewan McGregor : ok , last episode wasnt great, so lets read this one, ok great vader finds me on a planet and pulls the ship i'm in from the air into the hanger, love it, then ....errrr i escape because what, he see's us fly away in another ship and decides NOT to pull me back into the hanger........errr ok...

It's probably not so easy to pull around a Jedi using the force as it is a regular person. I would also imagine that pulling a spaceship out of the sky is also quite draining. Maybe it's like having an orgasm
Yes the series has plot holes and the continuity isn't perfect, but it was a fun story, the acting was brilliant from Ewan McGregor and the classic Star Wars aesthetic looked gorgeous.
The fight scene was the best goodie vs baddie fight I have ever seen. The emotion on Obi-Wan's face, how Vader looked when the mask was cut, the glow of the light sabres, even how Vader breathed and wheezed whilst fighting was excellent.

Saw the final one of these. At least it was the final one.
Lucas and Disney cashing in as much as possible.
Thought the whole thing was pointless. Vague whiffs of being able to fill in the blanks between Ep3 and Ep4....but wasn't even half hearted.
Very poor. Made the Mandalorian look good, which surprises me (Book of Boba Fett is way too far gone).
When Lucas stopped at the first 3, I'm now thinking he should probably just have stopped properly. The 7yr old me (and then 10 and 13), getting to take 3 mates to the cinema for my birthday could have remained untouched by the rest (which having finished this, made me think if the other movies were any good...and most really weren't).

I thought it was awful... More plot holes than plot.
The writing was awful. Disney have to get some more intelligent writers. They're simply not smart enough to spin the plates necessary to remain internally logical.
It's Sci-fi but that's still no excuse for illogical plot devices shoe horned in to fix stupid plot points that the writers wanted to tick off.

Had no trouble viewing it here. We have a 9 year old Sony 1080P TV and it wasn't particularly dark - although clearly the final showdown was on a dark planet (presumably picked to show off the lightsabers effectively. Or for drama. Or something). Kenobi's restoration of his powers and still therefore being able to beat the crap out of Vader ultimately was the best part of the series.
Of course his walking away from Vader and leaving him alive (again) was illogical but what else could they really do, in a prequel where we know neither dies.
That doesn't excuse the poor writing. Leaving Reva for dead one week while showing her on Tatooine the next, with no explanation of how she recovered or even got off where they left her was an absolute insult to the audience's intelligence. There are many many other examples, as listed on this very thread. But why on Earth was she going after Luke anyway? "Justice" she said. Wut?! For who? And she'd already faced off with DV so what was going after Luke going to solve? Seemed like a badly written afterthought to close her redemption storyline but just seemed nonsensical.

We enjoyed it for what it was, whilst recognising there were a few silly plot holes.
Now, a few ppl have whinged on about The Volume or whatever but never bothered to tell anyone wtf they are talking about.
Does one of you fancy trying to tell the rest of us without posting a link to some random page that only weirdos read?
