I enjoyed it. Could have cut out a lot of the contrived stuff at no loss at all.
It would have made for a very short program if they had. By contrived, I assume you mean the bits that were written and prepared in advance before acting it out. I really enjoyed this latest one. The scenery, the locations, some of the creative activities.
You have to wonder how they keep churning this stuff out which whilst having a lot of rinse and repeat content, still has stuff making it worth watching.
Just stumbled across this on faceache & thought it mildly amusing

I mean the skits, like everyone else does. It's a choice they make, obviously, but like a lot of people it is the other parts of the shows that keep me coming back. The main issue I've had with TGT is, when at this point you know how much it is scripted, half the time you can just see the "stunts" and "accidents" coming. While it was the same in Top Gear, I felt a good portion of it was covered up, or played out in a way where you thought "wait was that scripted or not?" For example when they set the caravan on fire when Jeremy was trying to make chips. Top Gear made a lot of it seem like genuine accidents/silliness.

Apologies, I was joking. But I imagine some also like the contrived bits too.
Bit like hearing jokes and enjoying them even though you know the punchline.

I just watched the final episode. It was pretty much business as usual and I enjoyed it. They'll be missed when they end it all, because there's nobody else quite like them.
That was a neat trick - it's not out yet! E90_M3Ross said:

Although I don’t think they’ve definitively said that it's the end of TGT have they?
Yes. The next one is the last one. Kerniki said:

Yes. The next one is the last one. Or perhaps you like watching things you don't like so you can moan about how you don't like it?

and obviously a certain amount of enjoyment from your annoyance
On your point though, ‘if’ you did enjoy moaning, does it matter? as long as you’re enjoying yourself?
The only joyless one i suppose is the person who doesnt enjoy your moaning
