I wasn't aware they had driven a Citroen in that sketch at all.

Some bks about diffusing a bomb, and then a BMW exploded.

Ahahahahahahahahaha

I nearly shat.
Why are you wasting your life sullying this post with your negativity? If you didn't like it jog on, don't watch another?
It's not a waste for me. I'm practising my typing.

You should practise your spelling. Defuse, not diffuse

I missed the point of JC getting out of the moving car. How and why did they do that ?

I was expecting it to be st and it was ok. A pleasant surprise.

I didn't really get the trebuchet. I mean they'd built something that actually looked like a real, working trebuchet. Either it failing miserably or it chucking the car however far it went would be funnier/better than what we got wouldn't it?

It's a joke.

That you don't know how is part of it. FWIW it was on a trailer.

It was a utterly hilarious 'on-point' joke referencing George Michael from a decade ago.

Clarkson jumping out of the Citroen while it was still moving made me lol. And I'm impressed at the cars making it through that woods.

One thing though. Was the Citroen actually driving on cobbles during the bomb scene? I know the suspension is good but is it that good?
Possibly, if you saw the exterior view of it driving over the cobbles you can see the car's body is pretty still.
The exterior shots showed it over the cobbles. In the interior shots, the cobbles could be clearly seen in the "next lane" as it were. So, no, they do seem to have cheated. But having driven a CX estate many times, I can say that they really are magnificent. If it weren't for the ULEZ, I'd find another one tomorrow and spend whatever it took to keep it running as a daily driver.

It's not a thread called 'positive comments about The Grand Tour' is it?

I guess some people just have a generally miserable disposition.

And some have a higher level of expectation, and a more grown-up sense of humour.

Grown ups don’t have a sense of humour. They have a sense of what they think is acceptably funny these days . World of difference

Some people have no sense of humour, either.

Could it be as simple as people have different tastes? I thought it was fairly dismal but would never actually state my opinion has any more validity than someone who thought ot was great, even if I can't understand why they would. Horses/courses and all that

Agrees that people have different tastes and everyone's opinion is valid.

Goes on to give a definitive statement that it was poor.

Does not compute. wink

There's a reason the BBC used to use these as mobile camera cars to cover certain events, eg horse racing.

Yes, but on PH people get very cross if somebody's opinion diffeds to theirs. Character assassinations and name-calling usually follow.

Are there not two 'lanes' of cobbles, with smooth tarmac up the middle?
