The exterior shots showed it over the cobbles. In the interior shots, the cobbles could be clearly seen in the "next lane" as it were. So, no, they do seem to have cheated. But having driven a CX estate many times, I can say that they really are magnificent. If it weren't for the ULEZ, I'd find another one tomorrow and spend whatever it took to keep it running as a daily driver.
A lot of CXs will be ULEZ exempt by now.OpulentBob said:

Could it be as simple as people have different tastes? I thought it was fairly dismal but would never actually state my opinion has any more validity than someone who thought ot was great, even if I can't understand why they would. Horses/courses and all that
Exactly, they have done much better even allowing for restrictions it was poor Goes on to give a definitive statement that it was poor.
Does not compute.
A definitive statement would have been 'it was rubbish and anyone who disagrees is a fool because I am right', and whilst that kind of statement does appear on here in many guises, it is certainly not what I said.
Have a great day brother man, peace, gbn x

Are there not two 'lanes' of cobbles, with smooth tarmac up the middle? skwdenyer said:

What was going on with James May with the napkin over his head?

“Wild ortolan buntings are hunted in southwest France in a cultural gastronomic tradition dating back to Roman times. After capture, the birds are fattened up in a cage before being drowned in Armagnac. Then they are plucked, cooked, and eaten whole, bones and all – everything but the beak.
Ritualistically, diners eat the bird feet first in one mouthful with napkins over their heads. Some say the napkin captures the steaming aromas to enhance the gastronomic experience; others contend it hides the act from the eyes of God.”

It’s entertainment, not a bad way to spend an hour. Why do people have to over analyze things.
I agree. Skipped pages two to 10 on this thread because it may be full of some nonsense. The other side of a bottle of red, it was fun; not overly silly nor overly serious and had some great situational moments in there. Maybe the easy-watching Morecambe and Wise equivalent for modern Christmases??radovich said:

Vast majority of GT has been woeful, just an extension of the last few years of TG which was dreary and dull, can't blame the three, or the cretin Inman whatever his name is, they are on their pension pot.
But stop watching it please, then they might do something new.
