I enjoyed it, much better than the ste TG that's on BBC1 and been 'Strictlyfied'. Humble pie should be served all round and get these three back on BBC2.

Enjoyed it too. We’ve seen it all before but it was none the worse for that, there’s only so many variations on the theme they can do. That SM was lovely. I think it was ‘old your ‘and’s old car that Iain Tyrell now has for restoration. Looking forward to that vid.

Very enjoyable and suitably daft - very much old Top Gear.

Everything Clarkson said about the CX was true too - we had three.
He didn't mention the telepathic steering though, or that a double 12 ladder fits inside with the tailgate close.
The brakes you do get used to and are extremely good but they are essentially on or off.

I have an SM and convertible DS living near me and both are amazing to behold.

Definitely felt more like a old TG special than a "Grand Tour" but still decent nonetheless. Also I may have missed something, but what was with James May and the white sheet thing on his face?
“Wild ortolan buntings are hunted in southwest France in a cultural gastronomic tradition dating back to Roman times. After capture, the birds are fattened up in a cage before being drowned in Armagnac. Then they are plucked, cooked, and eaten whole, bones and all – everything but the beak.

Ritualistically, diners eat the bird feet first in one mouthful with napkins over their heads. Some say the napkin captures the steaming aromas to enhance the gastronomic experience; others contend it hides the act from the eyes of God.”
I remember Clarkson doing it on on of his early non TG shows.

Isn't it illegal to sell the birds but you can have them at a posh dinner night, something like that.

Thoroughly enjoyed it, one of the best stand alone specials IMO.

Wanted to see a Citroen C6 and Alpine A110 in there too.

I really enjoyed that. I didn’t have high expectations to be honest as the last special wasn’t very good.

Thought it was ok but really disjointed, what was the point of ‘choosing’ the 3 cars to then not do anything with them?

Seemed cobbled together like they couldn’t be arsed and basically phoning it in.

Strange there’s not a load of posters complaining about them ruining cars, there were s few who were absolutely apoplectic over a bit if spilt milk in a car in the TG thread!

I thought it was good, the off roading in a Renault Scenic made me laugh!

I thought it was good entertainment. One bit which creased me, blink and you'd miss it. When on the race track, IIRC Hammond on film, far away in the background was James still struggling to get out of the Aventime with it's heavy door laugh

I enjoyed it, it was like a longer version of the French car segment they did on TG years ago. Reignited the want for another GTI6 that's for sure!

Well that was weird - I had very low expectations after the last couple but absolutely laughed my arse off for the first 25 minutes.

Maybe it’s because I’ve driven a lot in France - but so many of the jokes/observations were spot on and had me creasing up.

Maybe there’s life in the old dogs yet.

I really enjoyed that. Loved the SM.

Some of Hammond's quips were very well delivered and had me chuckling out loud.

Best they've done in a long time.

I reckon chrisp needs to recalibrate understanding of apoplectic. Nowhere even near. Still misrepresentation makes a stick to hit people you often disagree with.

I enjoyed the rallycross, giggled at the stop for lunch, the strike, and the show completely stolen by Marguerite "Go away in a reproductive manner!"

Childish, but better than the current TG dicking about. You can detect the scriptwriting quality influence from JC and RP, so lacking in TG.

I used over the top language to make a point, which still stands. It’s a theme on the TG thread that people seem annoyed at the trashing cars, yet CHM get a free pass.

I e really enjoyed some of The Grand Tour shows, just thought this was all over the place and seemed half arsed/incomplete as a full episode.

Isn't there a slight difference between abusing a shed Berlingo and a who knows how many tens of thousands new Merc?

I winced at the dropping of the 2CV, though it did look a bit rusty. That Pluriel, somebody would have loved it, possibly,

Thoroughly enjoyed it, had tears of laughter at numerous points.
One of the best since TGT began.

Cheers,

Chris
