Watched Ep 1 & 2 last night and enjoyed it. Looking forward to the ones tonight and tomorrow. One of the better dramas in recent months

P.S: Must confess to having a bit of a thing for Joanne Froggatt ever since she was in Life on Mars
Yep in the same boat. Smoking hot and would definitely hold her hand in public smile

I'm not convinced it was filmed in Nottinghamshire.
Don't recognise any of the locations.

I only moved into Nottinghamshire 4 years ago, so haven't been around here long enough to recognise the areas used for filming.
Would be nice to know from those more familiar of the area...

What I do recognise, is how hot Joanne Froggatt is...!

I’m guessing some of the hilly scenes in tonight’s episode were Lancashire.

Did anyone notice the Police liveried RS2000 in the pre credits section?

Only on PH! hehe

But aye, BBC coppers do like a Volvo. Even Luther counts with that old tank - I'm not going to be brave enough to guess the exact model.

How much of this is based on real events ?
It seems to be getting more far fetched with every episode

Well, the closing titles say it's based upon two murders.

One crossbow murder
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/nottinghamshire...

And one bloke who murdered his daughter. What the connection is between the two, I don't know.
https://www.nottinghampost.com/news/nottingham-new...

Edit.
Remember now. Both murderers hid in the woods.

The shot with rolling hills & the Donkey pub was Bolton I think.

There are many locations I've recognised as being Nottisham.

Last night there was Maid Marian Way, the aerial shot of the golf club was Hollinwell (but not the detailed arrow location).

I think a lot of the street scenes are Newstead Village.

What's doing my head in (amongst other things) is the story is set in the current time. They refer to Scott as being born during the pits strike, so he'd have to be around 40?

Back in 2004 both murderers were hiding in the woods behind my house. I did think a time or two as it got dark that I hope they didn't fancy a snack.

Terrible tragedies both.

The TV prog is only very loosely based on the 2004 set of events.

I'm quite enjoying it, but the story gets more far fetched with every episode.

Every time a new character pops up you wonder which famous actor it's going to be! hehe

Poor old Moxy didn't last long.

Yet more famous actors turning up last night. Clearly this was post covid and they all jumped at it having sat on their arse for a year hehe

Far fetched but very enjoyable.

Stephen Tompkinson. He was in Brassed Off, Ballykissangel and Drop the Dead Donkey.

Stephen Tompkinson - been in loads of stuff but probably best known for Ballykiss Angel but he was also in Brassed Off with the guy who runs the archery place.

Somebody ought to do a Venn diagram
