Do you think I'll be able to sing at 80? I couldn't sing at school.

You're missing my point. Which was, he's not as good as he thinks he still is.
Obsessed?

The guy is a legend of the trade and he is more than holding his own, Fair paly to the lad, I am really enjoying the set.

He’d have possibly been more suited to a daytime slot, not the headline act.
I agree.

Probably Macca wouldn't have worn that. He's a Beatle you know. A dreadful shame, because this is is just ok; not a Saturday headline.

It's McCartney, as in Lennon and McCartney, he's a Beatle. He's as important as Mozart and will be talked about/studied/listened to for hundreds if not thousands of years.

He's orders of magnitude better than Ed Sheeran was headlining, though.

(I'm much closer in age to Sheeran than McCartney)

McCartney is a bit better than expected, for a cadaver. Better and less embarrassing than Jagger anyway. Ditch the chit chat though please it's not working.
I'm with you bro.

He's bang average.
Come back when you're 80 and give us a tune.

I doubt he does. He's packing it in, he is a legend who has performed for nearly 60 years, it is more an iconic recognition and he should be venerated for the legacy he has created, his overall influence. Unlike the miming Diana Ross and croaky Rod Stewart, he's doing a premium job.

Not entirely my choice of songs but a thin slice of his immense repertoire.

I haven't.

I've said he is bang average. Which he is in my opinion.

If anyone is weird it's you suggesting I'm obsessed.

He’s singing better than I thought he would…

Just think he’s got the balance of the set wrong…needs way more well known Beatles songs to get it jumping!

I agree. The whole crowd lifts when he plays Beatles songs. Which helps his understandably weak voice. Playing his own stuff has limited headline interest.

Nobody wants anecdotes.

Not a fan of Macca but he's doing OK for an octogenarian. Although he seems to be as plastic as Dolly Parton.
See, it's funny you should say that. I remember back in the 80s when we were faced with a guy who......oh, sorry

I think the point is a broad cross section of all his phases - Beatles, Wings, his solo stuff, it all generates interest in his back catalogue. Everybody knows the Beatles stuff to the cliche stage and need educating. As has been said, I am a critical b*stard but he's doing well for a 60 year old, let alone 80.

That's the nearest you are going to get to the Beatles sixty years on pretty much, just enjoy it !

Paul is doing pretty well all things considered, 80 year old bloke doing a set of that length, impressive.

People will be dining out on seeing this in 20 years.

Rupert Murdoch does, and I've heard him doing karaoke.....which doesn't support your theory!
