Well, that was outstanding. If that’s the last time we see him in a set of this capacity, then what a way to go out. He’s brought joy to billions and it was a privilege to watch him tonight.

Hopefully the I-Player content will be up for a few weeks so I can catch a bit more of Glasto, need to see if Sleaford Mods are on there.
I’m 99% certain I saw them on there when I was having a shufty round yesterday.

Can I ask a question at the risk of needing a parrot but was the BBC coverage on Paul McCartney live?

Amazing! McCartney sounds like an 80 year old. Thank the lord the crowd knows the songs. Well, some do.

Still, should stimulate sales of the back catalogue which are brilliant. I do love Venus and Mars.

Just caught up watching First Aid Kit on iplayer. Those girls can sing, thought they were excellent.

Macca did a good job I thought. Billie Eillish on Friday I found boring, but kudos to her headlining Glasto at 20

McCartney is a bit better than expected, for a cadaver. Better and less embarrassing than Jagger anyway. Ditch the chit chat though please it's not working.
I'm with you bro.

He's bang average.
Come back when you're 80 and give us a tune.
Why? I don't charge people to listen to me entertain them.
Do you mean it's OK to accept poor quality singing because the vocalist is old? Why? Extra thick rose tinted specs? I've seen a lot of older performers over the years and some still sing very well, some not so. I'm not in denial some performances are sub-par due to age though.

I thought his crowd chit chat would be his best bit, but it ended up being his worst bit!

He's 80 and I think it's generally widely accepted his voice isn't what it once was. Last night's performance, however, was truly one for the ages.

Upon learning of the existence of a Pistonheads McCartney thread, you responded with a 'laughing out loud' emoji. Perhaps, for whatever reason, you have some kind of personal issue with McCartney that is affecting your judgment.

The review in The Independent said 'It’s a historic privilege just to be alive at the same time as him'. Not everyone is going to feel that strongly, but not at least appreciating him is missing out, really.

I have criticised McCartney in the past - voice shot etc - particularly following the 2012 Olympic embarrassment.

However, last night was a great set by a legend. You cannot take away his place in musical history, his back catalogue and for me the songwriting talent of he and Lennon.

At 80, his willingness to put in one hell of a shift is remarkable.

The voice is not there, but so much else is; what a man, what a performance.

People's opinions seem to vary on that.

Care to expand on what 'issue' I might have? No? Thought not. It's not really an 'issue' not particularly liking a musician.

Utter nonsense. I'm sure he's a nice guy, but he's old and the set wasn't very good IMO.

Why do people on PH take criticism of something they hold dear so personally? Why go on a forum if you can't take alternate opinions? Beats me.

It's great that we all have differing opinions, and all that, but if you really can't appreciate what we saw last night I actually feel kind of bad for you.

I can't agree more popeyewhite.

I'm not denying McCartney and Lennon were a force of nature back in the 60s. The fact they did so much in just seven years is incredible. However, he was not a headliner and those that are gushing uncontrollably about last night need to understand that not everyone thought it was as good as all that.

You are allowed to be completely wrong! It was a brilliant set , I don’t even like live and let die but it was spectacular.
Go and read this mornings reviews in the press
