80 year old man performs on stage for 120 minutes and some people moan.
You know most 80 year old men can’t do that right? Because they’re dead…..
Are you offering positive comments because of his musical ability, or just McCartney's fitness? Some seem a bit confused... .You know most 80 year old men can’t do that right? Because they’re dead…..

Right, so those of us that didn't like it are wrong?
Really?
There is no right or wrong with something like this, just different opinions, so no you're not wrong. Really?
Of course, I understand that people like different things. It's strange for me though, as a gigging musician, to see what was clearly an outstanding, exceptional performance, by someone who is generally accepted as being a genuine genius, and to read a few people here going 'meh'.

I though his voice was weak and his interaction with the crowd was poor.
It seems people think McCartney was great yesterday based on his performances 60 years ago and because of his age.
Take away his legacy and his age, and assess his performance last night unbiased.
I wanted to listen to some good music and didn’t hear any.
But listening to a man who has performed for 60 years at 80 years old, it was great.

His voice is a long way from his peak, but it held up pretty well last night. The band is exceptional, they know each other and the material so well they are like a living thing. I though his voice was weak and his interaction with the crowd was poor.
There wasn't a large amount of crowd interaction, as it was all about the music. What there was though I thought mostly went well.
It's the sheer scale of the man's legend and the almost unbelievably high quality of the songs that really do it for me. This is the setlist for the second half of last night's performance:
Being for the Benefit of Mr. Kite!
Something
Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da
You Never Give Me Your Money
She Came in Through the Bathroom Window
Get Back
I Saw Her Standing There (with Dave Grohl)
Band on the Run
Glory Days
(Bruce Springsteen cover) (with Bruce Springsteen)
I Wanna Be Your Man
(with Bruce Springsteen)
Let It Be
Live and Let Die
Hey Jude
Encore:
I've Got a Feeling
Helter Skelter
Golden Slumbers
Carry That Weight
The End
Just reading through that really it's almost beyond belief.
My best mate was there last night and I got this text from him at the end:
'I still can’t describe how I feel, I might have to have a sleep before I fully understand tonight.'
Robert Plant & Alison Krauss is a perfect Sunday watch. Rocky, but folky.
Krauss is sublime. Fabulous, emotive voice. And plays violin with great expression. Really impressed. Robert Plant is Robert Plant which is good enough for me. And sounding good.
Re Macca - At the Olympics we left to catch the tube after the first 5 minutes. ( A powerfully built director bought me my £2000 ticket) His first song was a downer, as his voice just wasn't there.
However on TV last night it was a joy; nostalgia, amazing songs and a good enough voice. He did justice to 'Blackbird', no easy feat.
But I see what folk say about the special guests - celebs sure, but they didn't take the event up a level, IMHO.
But, do watch Plant & Knauss.

Not sure what was going on with timings etc - all over the place
Anyhow, enjoyed Noel Gallagher, amusing to see that he needed to pull out Oasis material before the crowd properly warmed up !
As to Macca - we sat with that turned up with the surround sound kicking in
Really really enjoyed it
Loved the comment about phone lights looking like a galaxy or a black hole !
Hoping the bbc will be showing Pet Shop Boys tonight ...

There was an element of 'tongue in cheek' in my comment.

Nobody is questioning his back catalogue. What we are questioning is the quality of the performance and just because he was a Beatle and is still performing at 80yo is no reason for him to headline. But Glasto has form for questionable headliners doesn't it?
So who is to blame for the reason for not showing it live and also who is to blame for it not being available on iPlayer today?
Is it McCartney management or is it the BBC?
I could have recorded it last night but didn't bother as everything else is on iPlayer and I along with many others assumed it would be available today.
