Just watched the finale. On the whole a brilliantly produced series. The attention to detail in recreating scenes from the game were outstanding and a treat for fans. Maybe a little light on appearances from the infected but possibly done this way to appeal to a wider audience who normally wouldn't watch apocalyptic dramas. Can't wait for part 2.

Re the giraffe, it's a real wow moment of the game because you've spent the whole time snooping around dark buildings, tunnels, sewers, fighting the infected and soldiers etc and you suddenly come out into the light and see nature flourishing amidst all the violence. I guess the show skipped a lot of those bits so maybe it didn't have quite the same effect for non-gamers.

I didn't even know it was a game up until my daughter told me. A brilliant program that is not normally my cup of tea. But I am pleased I watched it. Very profound in fact with perhaps quite a few metaphors and contemporary themes.

Do we know for sure there will be another series? Does that follow the games' series?

Brilliant. Cheers.

I think the charisma of the 2 main actors really help. For those who played it, did the actors match your expectations?

What about baby Ellie, when she was on the dirty floor after just being born? Surely that was CGI?
Nope. Played by a pair of twins (a boy and a girl)

The Podcast is worth a listen, explains some superb stuff.

Pedro Pasal certainly did. Bella Ramsey not so much at the start but got better as the show went on. If you were to only ever play one game in your life it's worth picking up a cheap PS3 to play this one.

Loved it, although watching with the wife who is a biologist she was really impressed with the science behind it all until they told how ellie became immune-it can't happen that way apparently.

The other thing I didn't understand was why didn't he shoot the nurses? Surely he's just left two people who know about Ellie and will tell those who want to track her down?

I would agree with that. Ellie in part 2 goes through a huge range of emotions, would be interested to see if she could pull it off.

Here's the game trailer for part 2, just be warned that as with all trailers, it might be slightly spoilery.

TLOU was generation defining game for many and the 2nd part just went another level in pushing out the capabilities on the PlayStation 4. Now that game is technically 'last' generation and I cannot even imagine part 3 on PS5 or PS6. Naughty Dog the best studio of all time for as they also have my second favorite franchise Uncharted!

TLOU ooks very PS3 on PS4 & very today in PS5. TLOU2 looks great full stop. At heart it's a creative shoot em up with a story attached, the real attraction for me is the world it's set in. It's beautifully realised in either game.

Definitely scope for another series and I'd watch it. But then previously I've watched 'The Strain' and thought it was good so I'm no benchmark for quality viewing.

Off topic but The Strain was excellent. Even the last series.

I think maybe it was an emotional decision to save Ellie, without consistent reasoning involved.

Also, and sorry if mentioned before, I was surprised they used John Hannah (of 4 weddings fame) for such a small role in the 1968 interview. I assumed he would become a bigger character (not having realised then that it would be a chronological impossibility).

Also, and sorry to keep going on about stuff, I loved the choice of music on the carousel (The Cure).

58 here. Just completed the ps4 remastered yesterday having previously played on ps3 years ago. Every bit as good as I remembered and look forward to binging the TV series. Have just ordered part 2 from amazon which I haven't previously played.
