The idea is that you watch it and tell us what you think.
Got that but can't watch a convicted murderer unless it's really really worth it. Just doesn't sit right. I mean if it's really good drama I'll cover my eyes lol but beyond that... .
Sorry I don't understand. Nobody can choose a film for you.
If you mean you'll have to cover your eyes everytime Noye is on the screen it'll be a difficult watch.
Do what anyone else would do and watch the first episode then decide.

Any idea where the other house purchased is located, from the BBC documentary the image shown looked to be of a style you would find in the same area?
It is very close by. Still in the Bromley area - 45 Bird in Hand Lane.

The “house in the country” was more true of Gordon Parry’s purchase of Crockham House near Westerham. Surprisingly, for a character who appeared in the drama quite extensively, he wasn’t mentioned in the follow-up documentary.

I think, in episode 1, about half the characters are fictional.
In the real Brinks - Mat who was Mr Cooper?
IINM, that character is based on a combination of Michael Relton - a solicitor involved in the laundering process and Brian Perry, another of the launderers.
Yeah. Edwyn Cooper isn't real, neither is the female DI, Nicki Jennings.
I finished it the other night, generally enjoyed it.

I was a bit confused though, why would they name all other characters as their real names, but give Michael Relton this pseudonym of 'Edwyn Cooper'.

It's not as if Relton is innocent, he got a 12yr sentence for his involvement.

They appeared to combine a few people into that character for dramatic reasons and to emphasise the class/establishment thing and how London in the 80s changed some of it. I'm not sure how well the class thing worked

I found it odd, and thought I'd misheard, in the first epsisode that Mr Cooper was played by a real Mr Cooper.

Sorry for being obtuse, I mean it's a wrestle with my conscience. Could you just say whether The Gold is any good or not please.

Many thamks, I know the area very well.
It makes sense that they purchased nice but not exceptional properties with the proceeds of their ill gotten gains.

All subjective of course but in my opinion very good and well worth a viewing, or for an insight into Noye's criminal lifestyle try reading his book 'Public Enemy No 1' well worth a read smile

I think I have said this previously, but I thought the 'Gold' programmes were good, ok dramatised, but pretty good.

I thought the documentary at the end was quite amateurish. Yes, it answered some questions, but it left a lot more unanswered.

I'd not appreciated it was there. Anyone remember this in the pub that used to be 100 yards from that house?

"Five men stabbed after 'Wild West' bar brawl leaves pub 'looking like an abattoir'"

Any connection?

As in you had a stall in the car park selling gritty shellfish in polystyrene cups?
