Any idea where the other house purchased is located, from the BBC documentary the image shown looked to be of a style you would find in the same area?
It is very close by. Still in the Bromley area - 45 Bird in Hand Lane.

The “house in the country” was more true of Gordon Parry’s purchase of Crockham House near Westerham. Surprisingly, for a character who appeared in the drama quite extensively, he wasn’t mentioned in the follow-up documentary.
I'd not appreciated it was there. Anyone remember this in the pub that used to be 100 yards from that house?

How ironic on google maps they have a Gold C Class on the drive!

A bit of trivia, I used to be the supercockle guy there.
As in you had a stall in the car park selling gritty shellfish in polystyrene cups?
Not as posh as a stall, a basket.

When I had heater on full blast I could defrost jellied eels in the footwell of my Cortina in no time flat.

I am from that neck of the woods and used to have shellfish often when I was a teenager. Is it because I am now well-to-do that I don't eat them, or are they not so much of a thing as they used to be?

The supercockle man was very much of its time. As a second evening job it made sense, no point starting too early, and a decent evening would see me earning £20 -£25. This was at a time when working behind a bar was around £7 a session.

Did you do other Bromley pubs like The Red Lion near Bromley North? I used to go there around 30 years ago and remember a guy coming in selling shellfish.

So getting fishy fingers in a pub car park on a first date isn't so much of a thing now. Fair enough.

That's a lovely looking house, there's one showing on Rightmove sold with the same postcode that sold for just under £3m back in '06, surprised it wasn't confiscated under the 'proceeds of crime act' though (POCA) read

Don’t know whether it is the same one. Note’s place was “remodelled” and renamed I believe.

That's the one, it's now Oakwood House. I think this was the previous owner:

Was that was the house he got a helicopter from covered in someone else blood?

It really defies believe anyone could get away with owning a house like that based on proceeds from crime.

I guess globally it happens in mafia and drug ridden places in South America but in the UK it's so glaringly obvious.

I remember cockle men, they used to frequent pubs in streatham a lot in the late 80's early 90's.

He was a high level informer according to Wikipedia, hence the hints at his police protection in the show.
