As an aside I recently upgraded to YouTube premium via a Philippines VPN.

Works out at 2.50pm if you have a no FX fee bank account.

You literally vpn to PH, sign in , sign up to premium, done. Don’t have to pretend you live there or anything.

At that price it’s well worth it to lose the adverts. Not sure if they’ll cancel it in the future but seems people have done this for years.

For funny Movie and TV reviews there is

https://www.youtube.com/@PitchMeetings
and
Honest trailers from Screenjunkies

I find Pitch meetings the funnier of the two.
Film review stuff

Jeremy Jahns https://youtube.com/@JeremyJahns
Chris Stuckmann https://youtube.com/@ChrisStuckmann
The Flick Pick https://youtube.com/@theFLICKpick.

They usually do the more popular superhero/action/horror films, TV and a few games. Stuckmann a bit more serious about things.

CinemaWins https://youtube.com/@CinemaWins

I know CinemaSins has been posted, this is sort of the same format but positive

Movies with Mikey on FilmJoy https://youtube.com/@filmjoy
Patrick (H) Willems https://youtube.com/@patrickhwillems

Longer form stuff about films.

A few car detailing ones, like The Detail Geek (canadian), M.A.D Detailing and WD Detailing (both American).

IMSTOKZE and The Bearded Explorer are good for finding abandoned wrecks.

vehcor (American) for repairing crashed cars, as well as LNC Painter/LNC Collision. Saving_Salvage too (UK-based).

Harry's Garage and The Late Brake Show.

Hydraulic Press Channel

retropowercars but I tend to let a few of those build up before watching them in one go.

Trenton & Heath - they restore worn-out shoes and boots, can be interesting and relaxing to watch.

Just started watching High Peak Autos too, which is quite good. Same with Pollitt's Projects, think he only has two episodes so far but I've subscribed and like his style & content.

M539 restorations too, great channel.

One that might not appeal to many - Sebastian Jedrzejczyk - commercial vehicle repairer based in England, mainly HGVs but sometimes Sprinters/Transits too.

Matt Ross and his yellow 996 Turbo project. Mat Armstrong too (purple 911 GT3 rebuild) but I am finding him a bit annoying.

Daft stuff too, like FailArmy, broncos guru, RR&BD Driving School, Ozzy Man Reviews etc.

I’m a fan of cleatus macfarlane for the v8 turbo goodness, it is a lot of Americana but I guess that’s part of the theme.

Can confirm, I signed up over two years ago from an Argentina VPN. I think I pay £3 per month as it recently went up. I watch so much YouTube I'd probably pay full price if I ever lost access, I'd have to consider it though as it is stupidly expensive within the UK

The car channels I sub to are
Autoalex Cars
Car throttle
Rich Rebuilds
Garbage Time
Aging Wheels
79th productions
Tahitian Rider (Although its a motorcycle channel)
Fortnine (Again motorcycles)

I also quite like PrizzaMike. Hes only just started becoming a serious Youtuber and is a bit rough around the edges with his videos but the content is really good.

If anyone is interested in automotive vloggers, I have just got back into making videos about bangernomics and racing. This is my most recent video about buying a 600 pound BMW 325 in Scotland and bringing it to Prague. I have a second video scheduled for the end of the week that goes through the process of getting the car ready to go racing. https://youtu.be/59JNYEjQQXI

Tim Hunkin's "Secret Life of Components" if you love tinkering and his quirky arcade machines. Series 3 starts tomorrow.
His "Secret Life of Machines" TV series from the late 80's is also on Youtube. The image quality isn't great but it's just fascinating for its era.

If you like walking videos, can thoroughly recommend @JohnRogersWalks

Well filmed leisurely walks interspersed with interesting facts with, dare I say it, a bit of a Detectorists vibe to them.

A lot of good ones mentioned here - I'd add in Vice Grip Garage.

Guy called Derek - US of A - tends to find vehicles forgotten by time, fixes them where he can and tries to drive them home.

Though lately tends to do more workshop stuff - still a good watch.

Matt’s Off Road Recovery - does what it says on the tin. They also have the coolest, home-made recovery vehicles around.

The Operations Room - animated narrations of notorious military activities from history. His recent series on WW2 was outstanding.
Just watched a M.O.R.R. video - very good indeed, hardcore off road machinery with some great driving!

Have seen quite a few Operations Room videos, and they're always very good - well put together and very informative.

A few of my favourites -

bigstackd Aussie guy who never speaks and whose face never appears, who collects scrap, disassembles it, then melts it down into ingots and coins. Very chilled viewing for late at night.

Boylei Hobby Time Extremely talented maker of models and dioramas.

Colin Furze Genius maker and builder, and utter loon. Currently building tunnels to connect his underground bunker to his workshop and house!

The Slo Mo Guys As you might expect, they do videos of stuff in slow motion. Fascinating stuff, especially when they're working with bullets or explosives - which they do frequently!

Wintergatan German band, whose lead musician built the Marble Machine. Currently he is designing and engineering a replacement marble machine which is sturdy enough to tour, and well engineered enough to play 'tight' music.

A couple of channels not mentioned yet. The hoof trimming is so weird, after watching the really bad hooves become better, these videos became strangely addictive for me. There's other channels that do basically the same (TEC TV and Nate the hoof guy) but not as big, but if you want something completely different then can recommend Hoof GP.

The other one is AVNJ who says he's a fish biologist, but his debunking/critiquing video's are also quite good.

One of my favourites is Shredded sports science, his blend of sarcasm / critiquing is very good, and he's also not afraid of taking the p out of himself. As such he doesn't come across as arrogant and his uploads are a bit of fresh air in the fitness/muscle area.

I watch this one, he has an unusual steam punk/monster vibe in his wild west dioramas.

Came across this article about a chap called Martijn Doolaard and his restoration of an Alpine cabin and thought it might appeal to some on here.

‘Why are 500,000 people watching paint dry?’ The man behind YouTube’s DIY sensation

A decent little travel/tourism youtube channel, nothing outstanding but a nice enough watch.

Steve (Canadian) and Ivana (Indonesian Canadian) travel to different locations to sample tourism, food and costs. They go to a fair cross sections of places.

What differentiates them from others; they’re not shouty and seem fairly objective in their summaries.

I really like his stuff and agree it is motivating. I was slightly disappointed as I live in the same area as him and several times I've seen him at parkruns and events.

One time I said to him "Hi Mark! I watch your YouTube videos, really good stuff"

He replied "Right ok" and carried on walking

May have caught him on a bad day or something
To be honest, that sounds like one of my better days smile

Yeah, I got into that channel for a while. Amazing workmanship. No idea how I got into watching it, but I've bought a few pairs of boots after watching them tear them apart and say how well they're made - Wolverine, Thursday Boots etc. I wonder if it's some kind of crafty marketing wheeze? smile
