The over the top narration with hammed up Aussie-ness pisses me off.

Drain Addict is much better for Australian turd busting content.

My favourites at the minute:

GeoWizard: (down to earth Brummie bloke playing geoguesser and doing hiking challenges)

Diesel Creek: recovers old heavy machinery and drives it out from where it’s sat for 30 years

Mr Hughes: another down to earth English farmer that fixes tanks

Andrew Camarata: similar to Diesel Creek

Rate my takeaway: imagine Peter Kay doing street food reviews

44teeth: like top gear for motorcycles

RRC Restoration: restores bikes and cars to really high standard

Mustie1: fixes old vehicles

Rate My Takeaway!

My god, he's not had a coronary yet? Remarkable.

I got into that briefly about a year ago. I remember thinking he's not going to last long doing this, he was a big lad to start with...

Lovely guy though.

If you like Diesel Creek, give Marty T a go. A Kiwi that goes around fixing various machines both big and small
And if you're in to military vehicles, then The Australian Armour & Artilery Museum channel is good. The twins from Combat Dealers helped with the restoration of the museum's Panther tank and are featured in at least one of the episodes.
Also just subscribed to Tinkering With Tanks at Norfolk Tank Museum as well. Pretty good content.

You might like Post 10https://www.youtube.com/@post.10

Now then guys...

My partner and I love him and watch quite a few of his videos in the evening. Entertaining and just seems like a nice guy. Quite sad to hear his wife passed away a few years back but believe he's re-married now.

I enjoyed the Luton fish and chip place he went to about 1-2 weeks ago.

A few mentions of drain unblocking above, the best version of that for me is The Drain Unblockers - Liverpool based, great bunch of lads, hilarious at times

Another recommendation for Mr Hewes, some very random and eccentric vidoes, like messing with old Bugatti's and Bentleys, plus a massive playground to mess around with quite a lot of military and construction toys including a Cat D9. He has a very good amount of knowledge when it comes to fixing old British Army vehicles... and Russian tanks. I'm guessing he makes a living from repairing old auctioned off Military kit and then sells it on for other people to restore?

Also noticed a Jaguar (strike aircraft) randomly parked up in the background of the last video too

Two others worth a mention...

Ghost Town Living - A lone Californian who gave up a normal life and bought an abandoned silver mine in the mountains.

https://www.youtube.com/@GhostTownLiving

Cecilia Blomdahl - A woman who lives on Svalbard, in the most Northern town in the world, along with her partner and dog. A very different lifestyle compared to the normal 9-5 life.

Agree that Mr Hewes is a good watch. Bit chaotic but interesting

I currently love watching Farmcraft101
An American farmer who fixes most things. He’s done some seriously impressive repairs and explains things really well.

RRC - I've watched most of the series so far on the VFR400 / NC30, he's very talented, especially on the fairings. I was biting my nails because he'd missed one of the colours in the design, but it was okay, turns out that bit is a decal.

Anybody else have trouble understanding what people are saying?

I am not talking about some American videos where they gabble away, I mean standard British videos delivered in English by native English speakers.

I struggle all the time with 'Rate My Takeaway', is it just his accent? I miss most of what he says, especially the price of the food he is buying!

A few from my favourites list

Travel Stuff
Auto Shenanigans - https://www.youtube.com/@AutoShenanigans - wide range of factual mini vids on various subjects presented by a bloke with an extremely sarcastic and dry sense of humour. Highly entertaining.

Geoff Marshall - https://www.youtube.com/@geofftech2 - ultra-enthisiastic UK public transport geek and former holder of the Tube Challenge record, has visited every UK and Ireland railway station, travelled every London bus route (and made videos), ex BBC guy, high quality vids full of interesting facts and info.

Jago Hazzard - https://www.youtube.com/@JagoHazzard - fascinating short info-blogs loosely focused on London / trains / history presented with a high degree of sarcasm.

My Grey Gap Year - https://www.youtube.com/@mygreygapyear - vlogs by a solo over 50 traveller. Lots of tips and tricks how to game the system of BA tier points, recommendations of places to visit, how to find deals and so on.

Flying Stuff
Missionary Bush Pilot - https://www.youtube.com/@MissionaryBushPilot - high quality "day in the life" type vlogs of a an experienced professional pilot who flies cargo, medical and transport flights in a Kodiak 100 around Papua New Guinea. Some incredible flying, scenery and challenging landings and take offs.

Rory on Air - https://www.youtube.com/@RoryOnAir - another ex BBC guy now a commercial helicopter pilot. Vlogs of his entire flying journey from student lessons to turning pro, then vlogs various trips with friends and his work.

The Flying Reporter - https://www.youtube.com/@TheFlyingReporter - and yet another ex BBC guy, fixed wing pilot based out of Redhill who produces good quality docu-vlogs on trips and various aspects of General Aviation in the UK.

Richard Tyrer - https://www.youtube.com/@richardtyrer - if the Milk Tray man was a pilot it would be this guy. Is there anything he can't fly? Smooth, suave, sophisticated, his life appears to be ferrying jets or helicopters around the place for rich clients. Gets to fly some extremely nice aircraft and talks through the procedures and processes of the flight as he does so with multi-camera cockpit and external views.

Growler Jams - https://www.youtube.com/@GrowlerJams - short in-cockpit vlogs of an American Navy EA-18G pilot. Lots of stuff like carrier landings, mid air refuelling, formation flying etc.

DIY
Proper DIY - https://www.youtube.com/@ProperDIY - high quality content produced and presented by Stuart who is an engineer by trade, tackling all sorts of DIY projects around the home and garden. Does stuff properly. Useful tips and tricks without being patronising. He also has a spin off channel where he looks in to commercial building engineering which is fascinating.

Paul Restorer - www.youtube.com/@PaulRestorer - long mesmeric videos of a Polish bloke restoring and repairing toy cars - Matchbox/Dinky/Corgi etc. Stripping paint. Making new mouldings. He often even makes new boxes for them. How can something so boring be so captivating? I have no idea.

Nicky and Harri - https://www.youtube.com/@NickyandHarri - young couple buy knackered house with a view to doing it up on a tight budget and living there. The bug bites and when they finish they decide they want to sell and find another one to do. Lots of good house-renovation-on-a-budget content.

Misc
Trumptonshire Official - https://www.youtube.com/@trumptonshire - vids and clips following the 2024 reboot of Trumpton / Chigley / Camberwick Green. Various screen tests and test animations plus silly stuff like the Trumpton Fire Brigade doing YMCA and Windy Miller dancing to Michael Jackson's Thriller.

Urbandoned - https://www.youtube.com/@Urbandoned - UK urban exploration. A couple of particular highlights being the abandoned Debenhams store in Manchester and the British Airways Flight Training Centre at Heathrow.

Beard Meats Food - https://www.youtube.com/@Beardmeatsfood - Adam is a UK profressional eater and genuinely nice bloke. There are not many challenges that have beaten him.
