I have been watching some of his evidence and he certainly looked uncomfortable at times. As per usual, a lot of hindsight involved along with “I don’t remember”.

The over riding issue that I picked up was that clearly there was knowledge within the Legal Team that Horizon was far from perfect but to admit that would cause so much pain that they covered it up, failed to declare evidence to defence and continued to prosecute regardless.

There really does need to be criminal prosecutions for those involved.
When I had to do a disclosure for a Court case I am almost certain I had to sign a legal declaration that I had declared all relevent documents etc to the other party.........wonder who signed theirs?

Really should be many prosecutions at the highest levels IMO but no doubt someone will be sacrificed to save most, if not all of the Boards' skins (pensions).

Poetic justice if they lose their pensions after the disclosure that they were considering stealing the pension pots of convicted PO managers to make up an alleged shortfall.

Can’t see it happening though

No, it just vanishes over the Horizon Ange.
Thanks very much for that, I will do my best to be in front of a TV for those two days.

Rodric (head of legal) isn't a very erudite chap is he, doesn't seem to remember anything and his hearing seems to be failing him.

He looks and sounds very nervous, I wonder why.

He is either a bumbling idiot, or a very clever actor playing a bumbling idiot.
I'm waiting for Mr Beer KC to ask him which one it is...

Mr Williams seems to have been a bit of a disdainful bully when dealing with the Sub Post Masters and their concerns and complaints and has now become a gibbering wreck when faced with the consequences of his disgraceful attitude in the past.

It's typical of someone who is big and brave when sitting behind his desk or at his keyboard but wilfully ignorant of the consequences of his attitude.

It's nice to see him squirming now.

I think like many people at work, they write emails without considering that they might be produced in court.

And the internal e-mails show the overall disdainful attitude Post Office managers had of SPMs in general. It makes the managers look like a bunch of schoolyard bullies.

Because it's not always "banter". Generally, the targets of "banter" tend to see it in a less humorous light than those doing the bantering.

That was Beer's intent in its use.
