Trey never having made his testosterone shot and only ever made a phone call to the supplier, and not even writing a proper business plan? Come on that’s bs.

Gym girl with no accounts in her business plan, so Shugs just takes her word for her numbers in the boardroom?

Pieman will get the win. There are way too many gyms already. Isn’t this the guy who lost every single task bar one too…

Rat smelt.

Well the idea of the business plan being the driver certainly the case because none of these are worth investment

Gym is just too saturated a market surely these days with no usp? He could start a gym a day in every big city if he wanted to. Hasn't he already had a gym owner winner?

Pie man for the win I'm guessing.

So Asfault what is your business plan?

My plan is to buy up all the domain names and websites of these other chumps and sell them to them at a premium price.

Flo getting fired just reminded of this scene from the Simpsons.
You could see her completely break as soon as he said the words.

Traditionally the interview episode was the best one for me. Last night's felt a bit limp as its obvious the business plan isn't actually needed now as you can drop it and come up with a brand new idea immediately and still be in contention next day.
The stronger candidates couldn't even muster a proper plan ( Trey) who thought he'd just wing it as he once had a hit record, plus Flo who hadn't even checked out domain names or name clashes.
So we are left with Family Pie Man who was one of the worst candidates losing 9 times and a fairly new gym owner without an actual USP
Not exactly cutting edge business minds or leaders.

I'll watch the final but I don't care who wins, which is probably a fair summary of this season. If the format isn't
shaken up massively this will be my last watch unfortunately.

I thought the interviews were tame compared with previous years.

But Tre, what makes him think that an idea = a business plan

It's almost like they've never watched the program before going on it.......

As others have said, really disappointing interviews episode! The two best candidates through the last 10 weeks had the worst/least credible business plans. Cosmetic dentist - perhaps hoping for another Covid outbreak and looking to sell dentist scrubs to the Government....but clearly not up for giving up 50% of his business (understandable).

The two finalists - at least Rachel has started her business. Pie Man's is a family thing - and if he wins maybe he has given his family business up for £250,000. Not sure about the final though - they launch their new businesses....that already exist. Surely the worst candidate through this series won't win? Probably will!

I think 'The Apprentice' as a program needs a new business plan.

I can only assume that somehow they only get maybe 24-28hrs notice they are accepted and to send a business plan.

What does Sugar see in Rachel’s gym idea? She has got a USP - it’s an awful one though. PAYG gym?

Missing out on the 30% or so of people who pay a sub and never go! Plus all the New Year’s resolution people/ Christmas present people who you will never see after January. Easy money.

Offering classes instead? What a limitation. Sorry it’s spinning class tonight so half the gym is out of use etc
That’s not a business, it’s a sure-fire way to lose money

I know someone who was on the show just over 10 years ago and they had to submit their business plan at the the start of the process. Maybe it's changed now.

The plans are so crap I can only imagine they get a call / e-mail "You've been accepted, please submit you business plan in 48hrs or we'll reject you"

Well, one year we did actually have a candidate that had a significant role in Shameless

We were saying this morning that surely, if you were selected to take part, that you would have taken the time to watch just one episode, the interview episode, from the previous year... to get a vague idea of how high the flames will be if you do not submit a credible, costed, truthful business plan.
What is it with these idiots?

I've mentioned this several times but last year in the interview show one of them didn't have any products available to buy on their website because "I didn't think I would get this far on the show", so I think for most of them it's just a chance to get on TV rather than a serious way of getting funding for their business.

Disappointed with the interview show again - if you look back at the earlier shows you get a few minutes with each candidate talking to an interviewer but now it's just a 30 second clip.

The interview show has been watered down over the last couple of years after that contestant, can't remember who, broke down in tears and the BBC got a lot of criticism that it was effectively bullying.

That bit from Mike did make me laugh!

Rachel and Pieboy were the only two feasible candidates. I hope Rachel wins, as I think she's the better business person (just...) but i also want to see if she is actually physically able to smile or not. Even when told she was in the final, she still looked stony-faced.

Maybe she knows in advance what the outcome will be, Shugs seems keen on Pieboy and I think Rachel would have to grow a beard to stand half a chance in this company. Also seems odd to want to invest/expand an ailing company and with the business plan seemingly optional it wouldn't surprise me if he fired both of them and hired the receptionist instead! What a farce biggrin
