Glad Phil lost as his business was too good to give sugar an easy 50%.
Sugar adds yet another attractive lady to his harem of business partners.

I keep hoping he'll say: "I'm an obnoxious arrogant conceited little st whose only achievement was making a load of crap computers and a fax phone nobody wanted."
Yet still a billionaire and almost certainly more successful than you or I on quite a range of metrics

True. Still gets on my tits though.

Particularly when his two acolytes fall about laughing like drains at his carefully scripted ad libs.

Well, he is a survivor. What interests me is that he represents a dying breed of geezer, Barrow boy ,, wise guy made good and has stayed true to that anachronism. There may of course be a streak of self parody in his persona.

It was Phil's win last night right up until the boardroom where a) he said business wasn't all about profit and b) maintained his plan to increase online sales.
LS at that point had no choice other than give Rachel the win -a sort of least worst option rather than desired choice !
Yep - I did a huge facepalm at that point.

"Dear investor, let me have your cash, I don't plan to make a profit or give you the best return I can, I just want to be nice to my mum and dad"
I have to agree with L.S. on this one. Point ‘b’ above :You would need to be very desperate to order perishable food by post, cheese excepted. Also, most of you on here will know a really decent pie shop , involving a short drive in most cases. There are also cost issues of going down the postal route . Phil’s pies are apparently excellent, but is it worth the effort and expense when there will be nearby ones which are v.g? A bit like the wine ( snobbery) scenario, where a £40 bottle will be very slightly smoother than a £9 one, but it will be very marginal.

What a load of rubbish.

I have enjoyed every series of the apprentice but even i have become seriously bored with the totally stupid tasks and even more stupid contestants.

Gave up on this series at about episode 3 or 4.

Amazes me these 2 got to the end. total rubbish.
Yep. At some point TV shows are so bad that they become good and thus provide an unintended form of ironic entertainment . The lack of self awareness and supreme over confidence of the contestants is verging on the surreal. Hence, good viewing!

With all those 'Britain's got the idol factor' type shows the cringe content is so high you'd have to pay me to watch 'em.

On the other hand, Apprentice has the cringe/comedy ratio just right. Long may it continue!

As we’ve said prior nobody with a slightly complicated business is ever going to win. It’s cakes / gym / Botox to appeal to the thick as mince audience who wouldn’t understand being a coder or anything digital.

I used to agree, especially when x factor used to have the proper weirdos on there, was some very funny auditions. Same as apprentice, there used to be some genuinely funny stuff going on.

But its changed now, apprentice is full of instagram ultra paneers who don't come across funny, just fking thick with st ideas.

Its a shame because up until maybe 2 or 3 seasons ago i really enjoyed it. Maybe i would if they changed it up a bit but its the same tasks, the same 'mistakes' and last 2 or 3 seasons the instagram ultra paneers.

At the end of the day the winner built her business from scratch. The runner up was handed the pie business on a "pie" plate from family.
Not taking anything away from Rachel at all but she has come from a very wealthy family, her farther is a well known Leeds Multi-Millionaire businessman.

Quite. If I want a good pie I'll drive 5 miles to Dunblane and buy them from from Bennets Butchers. Large range, sometimes still warm from the oven, absolutely delicious.

Good suggestion for PH types to view: the ‘high end’, of course , has far more scope for bull s.

Plenty of meat is sold by post, I’ve ordered things a few times myself - generally big and expensive things like 3- rib roast of beef for Christmas. Never had an issue with it being perishable, it’s sent on an overnight service in a very effective coolbag. It’s always chilly to touch when you unpack it.

Thing is though, pies aren’t just perishable, they are also fragile. If someone drops a rib roast of beef or a big packet of steaks, it goes thud but isn’t damaged beyond use, in fact I doubt you’d ever know. A pie will be smashed, and expensive refunds will therefore be frequent.

On this point, I've ordered pies by post several times (from The Great North Pie Company, not an ad smile ) and they've been perfect every time. His idea isn't new by any stretch, in fact it's a very old concept and proven.

I caught up on the last episode over the weekend, Phil unfortunately crumbled and really wasn't a viable choice with his attitude in the board room. Clearly not that adept at making good business decisions he was too risky an investment. Plus the other candidates he picked to help him were woeful, it was like he was picking the worst ones on purpose.

However, the gym idea for me is a non-starter in terms of scalability. She has no USP aside from herself and she won't be able to translate that across the number of sites she wants. I also saw something about the fact she was fibbing about the level of profit her current sites make as the parent company are actually reporting a loss? Not sure how true and surely easily checked.

Disspaointing end to a but of a limp series, that said I'm sure I'll tune in next one to shout at the TV some more no doubt :roifl:

The programme could be reduced to 2 episodes, the Interviews and then the final.

They should make a spin off series made up of those candidates that were fired in the first episodes of every series. They might make for better candidates than those who get through to the final.

Yeh, the loser of losers. The one who loses the first episode is crowned the true champion (loser).
