Agree Bluevanman's comments. Very nice fellas but not quite sure what the point was in that it was so prosaic. Perhaps the problem for me was that the car choice (MGB) was dull. But that's just me.

I just watched the first episode. No sort of cover over the wings - amateur. Plus I thought they could have fitted a more suitable steering wheel.

Absolute rubbish IMHO. Replace lowered springs and rear hangers, then use a wire brush to encourage more rot on the rest of the suspension.

I've watched two of them and thought it was ok. Basically a kind of low rent Wheeler Dealers.. nice to see Paul Brackley on the credits as a technical advisor though!

I'm quite impressed how they've managed to take a subject that would be dull for many people, and make a tv show that's dull for everyone.

I've kept up with this show and I still quite like it. I know it misses bits out and is a TV show though.

I liked the 805R, but thought they could have put plain number pates on it. What I disliked though were the exhaust tail pipes and the fact that someone at some point had put one on the right too. It was functional but looked awful.

He mentioned changing the cambelt as the car had been sat for a while, but didn't appear to change it.

I noticed that bit, too. I was wondering if I'd missed the bit where he found some evidence that it had been changed recently, but it sounds like I didn't. I was surprised that he seemed to only paint part of the red section of the front bumper rather than doing all of it, and just as he was mentioning how there weren't any blemishes that needed filling, there was a big blemish shown on the screen. As a programme it's OK, but not incredible.

I’ve only seen the trailer for this but isn’t Sheldon the guy that was on the strip cars for cash show with a big guy ? Both had to buy a scrap car for x£ and break it to show a profit?

I noticed that too!

He said it needed changing but there was no mention of it in the final costs.

I'd rather have a new cam-belt than ceramic coating of a potential paper-weight!

Pretty sure he is, i enjoyed that show had a good bit of banter in it although staged like most stuff.

I find it quite an entertaining series - good presenters, diverse range of cars, a bit more focus on the oily bits compared to other fixer-upper programmes.

I like an 850R - although not an auto - yuk - but the exhausts were, in every way, ‘orrible and they should taken a hacksaw to them. The other dents on the bodywork which were pointed out on the inspection/test drive also miraculously disappeared without any apparent human intervention.

But overall, very watchable.

And the other thing I remembered about the Volvo episode is when they took the wheels to be refurbished. I expected some sort of fancy machinery to sort out the kerbing (didn't someone on here have a lathe that they'd bought for exactly that purpose?), I didn't expect the guy to just run an angle grinder around the edge. Seemed to look OK in the end, granted.

I forgot to say, the narrator (Alex Riley) who I know from being on The Car Years, is sometimes quite annoying on this show!!
