“It's an interesting show, but I'd rather just find my own car!”
I thought this, but then, not everyone is handy with an oily rag and spanner.
Have a budget, hand it over to these chaps; in return you get a well checked over motor, up to snuff.
Have a budget, hand it over to these chaps, and they'll spend half of it on a lesser car than you can actually afford, and give you no choice over which one you buy.I thought this, but then, not everyone is handy with an oily rag and spanner.

I have it on series link because I set that up when the show began, but I don't really watch the episodes; I just play them in the background when I'm doing other stuff.
I did see a bit the other day when one of the blokes said to the buyer "Look at this bumper. That didn't look like this but we fixed it."
What is the buyer supposed to do with that? "Erm, ok. Thank you"?

Tbh anyone who goes down this route probably hasn't got much of a clue and will take what they're presented with and they get to be on TV I did see a bit the other day when one of the blokes said to the buyer "Look at this bumper. That didn't look like this but we fixed it."

Maybe I don’t understand the whole Beetle scene, but the external chrome add ons in particular looked like a load of old tat.
Agreed! I think the engine bay looked good with the powder coated bits and the chrome tin ware, but the external stuff was awful! I've never seen the headlight guards / grilles on one that new, I think they're usually reserved for super early cars. I also didn't realise that the stone chip guards went on the front wings (well, they didn't as they didn't fit) I thought they went on the rear wings after the running boards.
