I saw this when I was little and loved it too! The bit that I remembered best is where Michael is driving an old truck, but when being chased by villains, he drops down into a bright yellow sports car hidden underneath, and blasts away.

Some years ago I downloaded Condorman from somewhere online, and it is a great bit of entertainment, satirises both James Bond and superhero stories. Though it's aimed at children really and the wires are painfully obvious in some of the 'flying' sequences.

That's just give me a great flashback.

I'm sure I loved this film when I was a kid too.

Think he had a bad ass car and there was a nice Porsche in it.

Don't think we see the original Herbie films either much these days.

I suspect that that will never be shown on broadcast TV again.

The car was a Nova kit car, and the baddies drove black Porsches.

Talking Pictures is your friend here. For the first few anyway.

Dog Soldiers. 2002 film from Neil Marshall.

It's not just missing from broadcast TV, it's as thought it's been wiped from existence. I read something a while ago about legal shenanigans with the producers. I guess this was never resolved.

Being There

Peter Sellers last film. He should have got an Oscar for it but was beaten by Dustin Hoffman.

Watched this as a kid at the cinema and I've mentioned this to friends & family for years but no-one seems to remember it. Watched it a couple of months ago on my dodgy firestick. There's a reason it's not shown anymore, it's really poor acting by Crawford with his American accent (just why??).

A much better film with Michael Crawford is The Games from 1970. I'm pretty sure it hasn't been on broadcast telly for 4 decades.

Vincent Friell who played one of the lads in "Restless Natives" has just died aged 64. Far too young frown

Cross of Iron is on Amazon Prime. I think they have a number of older movies so worth checking if you have it.

Cry Freedom never seems to get shown these days. A shame and surprising as its a beautifully made film with a reasonably good script and performances telling an important story.

I recall it was nominated for a lot of awards when released and - I think - won a few but I can't remember the last time I saw it shown
