The bike used in the film was indeed a Kawasaki GPZ 750, stickered to look like the 900 version of the same bike.

I was about 8 when that film came out and always wanted motorbike after seeing the film.

Ay MCN live in March a guy had one of those bikes and it looked pathetic, he was wearing a leather flying jacket with an American badge. What a bell end.

Skywalker, Pistonheads rules of quoting are written for your safety and for that of your team. They are not flexible, nor am I. Either obey them...or you're history, is that clear?

I drove past Miramar a few weeks ago. I played Kenny Loggins.

paperbag

(by the way, the "Kansas BBQ" bar in downtown San Diego that is used in the film burnt down last month. Never seen so many fire trucks in one place)

"That's pretty arrogant, considering the company you're in.

I like that in a PistonHead!"

That would be awful, Tom Cruise is now all weird, not like the Stud he was in the day. Please don't do it.
yes ... but at least he's an instructor this time so hopefully we won't be subjected to him strutting around half naked trying to be the stud he was.

nope a 900R a1. The yanks 900's had the same livery as the euro 750's. The yanks never got the 750 with that bodywork iirc.

Top Gun 2.

Tom Cruise is an instructor, a pretty good instructor, but has some bad luck. He suffers a crisis of confidence but the love of a good woman helps him turn it around.

Guess that they will be in F18s rather than F14s now...hey-ho.
F18s were around in '86 when the original movie was out! I reckon CGI F-35s?

Hope that if it's made it is as good (and slightly less homo-erotic) as the original.
Nah equally if not more homo-erotic. The whole volleyball scene was mega!

For those of you who are desperate for an unbelievably gay naval aviation film fix, Five are generously showing "Stealth" at 1745 on Sunday afternoon.
