Adverts that make you wanna smash your TV set up.
Discussion
I see Google have jumped on the bandwagon with the release of "Google Home" and have decided to run an advert that is essentially the same, and equally as annoying, as the versions previously used by Amazon & Microsoft for the same piece of talking crap tech.
On a similar note, the new FitBit advert that has the family brat telling everyone just how much their whole life has changed just because "mummy" bought their lifestyle tracking device.
Also, are MoreThan insurance a Scandinavian company now? They seem to have started a new campaign featuring a pervy looking Scandinavian accented man trying to upsell their black box car insurance, home insurance, etc.

Constant repeating ads instantly put me in 'won't buy that product' mode. With all their market research, haven't companies found that out yet?
I agree entirely! Sometimes they even repeat them within an advert break just in case you missed the first one 2 minutes ago! God knows what budget Confused.com wastes on its adverts but that F***ing "That's why they call me the parking master" must be on at least 50 times a day. The old saying about advertising is "I know half the money I spend on advertising is wasted. The trouble is, I don't know which half".
I suspect ad targeting in the internet age is improving that but still difficult to understand what parts of the product/advert/price/audience/media equation are positive and which are negative.

The Rosland Gold coin adverts are back again with, "Hi, I'm William Devane" doing his best Troy McLure impersonation and even more bizarrely Jim Tavaré as his butler.

There's a set of radio ads at the moment which have a current sports person or olympian explaining what they do to prepare or train or psyche the opponent or some other inane drivel, before a voiceover woman comes on and explains how BP's petrol cleans your engine.
I can't fathom the connection between an olympian's preparations and petrol. Stupid ad.

Oh god, I was subjected to that fking trivago ad AGAIN just now. There's something about that kiwi(???) bird's accent that makes my teeth itch! & what a stupid name for a company - sorry, I don't get it....
I couldn't work out her accent, so picked up my phone and started typing in the search box. As soon as I'd typed "who is the girl in...", the auto-complete came up with"Who is the girl in the LLoyd's Bank advert?"
"Who is the girl in the Admiral advert?"
"Who is the girl in the Trivago advert?"
Turns out she's an Aussie but lives in Berlin, hence the curious mix of Aussie and European accent.
Anyway, she could talk to me all day long about hotel rooms....

Isn't the ad for Shell V Power? Either way, they wasted their money.
Scientists would have been a better idea, as I'm sure athletes,no matter how good, didn't do a lot to develop petrol
I think it is Shell - goes to show how effective the ad is if I think it's for one of their competitors.Scientists would have been a better idea, as I'm sure athletes,no matter how good, didn't do a lot to develop petrol
