As I read this the advert came on, that dance at the end makes you want to break a snooker cue over their heads!

Followed instantly by another pain in the arse advert for Weetabix

Honestly who thinks this crap up.....Fee-fi-fo-FIX irked WTF!

There is an advert for Evostik that gets played on TalkSPORT where they say "sticks like....Turbo"
Doesn't make sense to me:-)

I am pretty sure I could think of a better use for that snooker cue!!

And yes, the Weetabix advert is fking annoying as well. Everyone associated with both adverts needs firing, now.

That used to wind me up when I listened to TalkSPORT. It is the way he says it as well. Makes me grind my teeth. Utterly fking annoying.

Had a thing for her since Drugstore Cowboy so not going to complain too much about that one. hehe

After hearing it a few more times, I now think they are trying to say it sticks fast, so using the Turbo reference to imply speed.

I agree...

Another one is the No 1 Supergloss from Caravan. Can't stand the smugness of the guy allegedly using it. If I were his mate Eddie, I would punch him...

Not a TV Advert but a radio one. The PlusNet one where the guy is all 'If you can do this for me' and when the other guy comes on there's a noise of an office with a ringing phone. I've worked in quite a few call centres and a ringing phone is an extreme rarity. That and Plusnet's queues at the moment are horrendous because they've advertised heavily but not taken on more staff to deal with the load. Their average call wait was 7 1/2 minutes in the last OFCOM review.

No, no, no.

The advert is for a glue that they would like to call 'Sticks like st - turbo'

But obviously they can't call it 'sticks like st' so have to replace the 'i' with an asterix on the packaging, and leave an empty pause in the radio advert. Then 'turbo' because it's the extra strong version.

Have none of you heard the expression 'sticks like st' before, or am I due an incoming parrot. biggrin

Yes, I believe it's normally ended with " .. to a blanket".

It irks me a little when companies use stuff like this. Like that "easy start" product from Australia a few years ago. I know it's supposed to be light-hearted, but I just don't like it.

Yes I have heard it before, and used it many times before also. I haven't seen the packaging, I do not go around DIY stores very often. But the turbo bit has no relevance at all. Back in the late '80's / early '90's yes, everything had a turbo badge, but in 2016/2017? nah.
