I would think AILF is a very small category*, unless you're a matelot with aspirations.
* a Google image search for 'female admirals' defines small as tending towards zero...
Certainly VERY few in the ILF category* a Google image search for 'female admirals' defines small as tending towards zero...

Has anyone noticed that the Schweppes Tonic Water ad with the impossibly smug Frenchman telling us we are all "amateeeeuurs" seems to have abruptly vanished from our screens almost as soon as it appeared?
I wonder if they did some screen testing and found everyone else wanted to punch him as much as I did?
I mentioned that one recently. I was surprised that nobody else here had mentioned it until now. I wonder if they did some screen testing and found everyone else wanted to punch him as much as I did?
I am genuinely baffled at how that advert got approved. It makes my skin crawl just thinking about it!!

They just showed this advert at the cinema. I wonder if they did some screen testing and found everyone else wanted to punch him as much as I did?
Same actor, but he's lost his French accent.

I'm going to nominate the Savill's estate agents "Love Story" ad that was on during Bake Off.
Couple falling in love with a house with sea views that's literally right on the beach and in the water. Not sure what the point is really, as if you're taking it literally that would be impossible as the house wouldn't exist there, and even if it did, no estate agent would be able or willing to market it or sell it (just like all those houses on crumbling coastal areas being reclaimed by the sea, etc)
Yeah, like any of those are ever going to get used offroad. Expect to see them loaded with kids on the school run just like all the other "off roaders".

NFU Mutual - 'we love to pay out' - what crap, no insurance company like to pay out - they avoid it like the plague!
That sort of thing grinds my gears. They don't just turn up with a clip board and big cheque ready to be your best friend and throw whatever it takes to get you back on your feet.CooperD said:
There's a new Nationwide one where a young couple are in something like a video booth saying what they like about each other. Just as bad as the fking poetry ones.
This one had me properly fuming...... WTF are Nationwide on about? Surely the top brass watch TV & think 'who the fk are we contracting to do our advertising??? Fire them immediately!!!'
Seems most bank ads are ste though - I don't recall a single decent one in recent times. Which are worse: the TSB cartoon series with that bloody annoying Scottish woman's voice over & ste muzak, or the Nationwide 'poetry' crap??
The newer BT ad with the girl and her death defying budgie
now the little bird flies BACK in the house
The advert is crap the little girl is risking her life by climbing long tall stairs not watching where she is going
Its bks and just to be annoying Ive started hitting BT social media saying its dangerous to budgies
