Last Night on the Sofa:

Wife: "I don't like what he's done with that, far too modern for my tastes"
Me: "I reckon that guy will be on Pistonheads, what with the TVR and everything"
Wife: Pitiful look in my direction which I take to mean "You need to get out more"

hehe

Love the Cerb and clearly a petrol head.

But I had to laugh when the presenter started going about that they knew what quality was and therefore the finish of the work on the house had to be of the finest. Pity the car wont be....

hehe

I mean, the build quality, fit and finish of the Cerb will be utterly atrocious. So why it would matter elsewhere is a little odd....

Still love the car though.

I looked for this thread about 8.10pm last night while the missus watched the Home show. I was expecting a thread saying "I'm on TV"!

Yes I am a man of few words, been lurking on PH for years just not saying much!
I missed my own show last night to go to the xmas party – free booze, seen it now though.

Far too many things to reply to one by one - sorry.

The BM is her company car so no money to free up there. The bar stewards she works for won't let her opt out of the scheme or she’d have an older M3 for a run about.

They didn’t show the bit where I said can’t you just forget about all that open plan stuff & give me the garage? To which George said oh that won’t cost much at all, to shut me up. But after we’d moved back in the project manager (top bloke & petrol head) pointed to where the wall had been taken out to make the open plan design & said there’s half your budget gone right there banghead

I found this thread
http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...
on the Cerb forum a while ago so there is more info there if any ones interested.

Loved your comments earlier spot on!

I was well narked they painted all the rooms upstairs white his gamble didn’t pay off at all & I told him just what I thought of it. Funnily enough they seem to have edited that bit out…

Hi Andy!

Great to have somebody from one of these shows to answer some questions! I'm intrigued - presumably all your gear was in storage. When you have a "designer" living space like that, how do you put any of your stuff back into it without "ruining" the look?

Also, my wife wants to know where you put the telly? biglaugh

hehe

Shame they edited it out though, a bit of balance would be good.

Got to say I also thought it was a bit weird the way he was hugging your mrs big time when she first came in to see the kitchen... I thought that should have been your job!

Ta, over all it's very good, so don't mind too much. There were a few issues with building regs & finishing off the things that were left so it's kind of easier this way wink

That is a very good question, yes it was & they paid for the storage. It would be a problem if you had a lot of things you were attached to, for us the only things we wanted back were our much more practical black leather sofas, so it was fine even if we do have rather a lot of seats now...

The TV was a bit of a pain, they told us early on they wouldn't be able to get discounted TV HiFi etc just the kitchen stuff. So I told them not to waste our money on a new TV. But every other program seemed to get a new TV so I'm guessing maybe they did get some after all.

Ah you know stiff upper lip & all that, I'm old school, don't like showing affection in public. George is just a big girl didn't you see how much he blubbed.
He was trying to hug me to - wasn't having any of that, I was surprised to see he did actually manage to get me once, don't remember that at all, must have blocked it out... wink

No, I was hugging her really, just something else they didn't show.
