Watched Haywire last night, good action film & great cast.
Well reccommended. 7/10
Also caught Apocalypse now on TV. I must have seen it a hundred times before, though not in the last 10 years.
On a big TV, good surround system, it looks & feels amazing. HD really makes it shine.
Watching it through again makes you realize just what an amazing job Coppola did, the whole thing & everyone involved.
Remarkable. 10/10 from me.
Haywire is the worst film I've seen this year with terrible performances from the big name actors Well reccommended. 7/10

Agree regarding Apocalypse Now
Watched Crazy, stupid love and enjoyed it well enough
I do like AN but have always had the feeling that once you get past how wonderful it looks there isn't a lot there TBH.
CSL came as a real surprise. I usually avoid rom-coms like the plague but really enjoyed it for what it was.

To be fare you're the one asking us to suspend our disbelief that Tom Cruise will make a good Jack Reacher. A flying boat is more credible than Tom Cuise being 6' 5"
Everyone on earth knows boats cant fly - pretty soon more people will know Jack Reacher is 5ft7 than think he's 6ft5. The good thing about fan boys....they are always outnumbered (which is why you should NEVER pander to them!)Edited by rhinochopig on Wednesday 7th November 14:15

I watched Ted, thought it was pretty funny. 7.5/10
Yes, I watched that this week and would give it 8/10. Very funny - appealed to my inner child. Also watched Savages which I thought was slightly disjointed but good regardless. Unusual to see Salma Hayek looking older - normally she's the beauty in the movie but she was slightly overshadowed by the starlette. Slightly.

I might have to go back and rewatch Apocalypse Now - always thought it a jumbling piece of crap and probably the most overrated film of all time wrapped up in a great cinematography finished off by Brando's horrific ramblings.
I thought the same for years, but I rewatched Redux (in HD) recently and now, and I'm sorry to say this, I think it's genius!I feel bad for saying that.
Abraham Lincoln vampire hunter.
Went to rent red tails or men in black 3, ended up with my third choice.
What's quite interesting is given the subject matter I expected it to be tongue in cheek, but it's all played very straight. In fact there is almost no humour. Still it was quite decent movie with some reasonable action sequences and nice visuals. Definitely worth a viewing.
6.5/10
