don't like the house they build one bit, but the skills of the guy who build it are first rate. the part showing him carving ornate doors with a standard DIY router is something else.

struggling to think why this one is worth a revisit though. iirc they finished everything in the first program.

Nobody watching? I only saw the last 10 minutes, which was enough to remind me I did see the original program. Nice workmanship, but not my cup-o-tea. I think I would go slowly mad in that landscape.

MAny people had said they were going to post on this thread, but at the last minute they realised it was too far to come all the way from GG.

Happens a lot round here.

The Cost

Estimated Budget : £350,000
Final Budget : £700,000

I'm sure they make up these original estimates to spice things up when they 'overspend' !
He said he only spent £120000 or so? Have you added a London multiplier to that? smile

I thought it looked a nice house, and the man was a true craftsman, no doubt about that. Even the wife was ok for a Nip, though some of us associate things other than Harmony and Peace with Japanese culture. The garden looked superb at the end, but if I had little pieces of Japanese script everywhere I would be expecting Pearl Harbour or someone to jump out of the bonsai with a samurai sword at any moment.

Up to that point I agree with you.
