Ah, now there's a case in point. I can accept Superman flying within the suspension of disbelief we discussed earlier. But I can't accept him freezing a lake and carrying it as ice, because the ice would snap. Likewise him wrenching a door off by its handle, cos the handle would snap. Or holding the Daily Globe globe up, because it would just punch a Superman-sized hole in itself due to structural integrity (or lack of) rather than being held up. Etc etc etc.
