Just watched diversity again at the end of teh show.
correct act won IMO.
That litle sideshow bob character is an amazing dancer & acrobat!
the fact they were able to perform the routine perfectly right after aswell just showed they had some talent, i remember George Sampson last year screwed up at the end. oh well. the result kinda surprised me, but i am glad Susan didn't win.correct act won IMO.

Apparently, Boyle has been long diagnosed with mental problems. I dread to think where she will end up after all this.
the end of a rope? I actually detest programming such as this as the "cringe" factor is way too high for my liking. Often the people involved are borderline mental cases and the popularity of the show (especiually in its earlier stages) relies on the audience's purient interest in seeing the "weirdoes" perform.
Admittedly, by the time the final stages are reached most of the odd balls have gone by the wayside but it still smacks of the 18th century tours of Bedlam mental asylum for me.

I know someone who took part in the initial auditions for an earlier series of this programme. They said that the producers only seemed to be interested in those who were either very good, very bad - or bonkers.
Wouldn't be surprised. Average acts don't put "bums on seats" I was in the eternal city, marvelling at the Colosseum ealier this week and as with all historical musings, found myself trying to imagine the psychologies of those involved in the shenanigans which transpired; audience, organisers and participants.
"Rome is the mob," went the line in films past.

Did 'Diversity' win? I just tuned into the Final repeat to see what all the fuss was about, and I thought they were very, very good. A very clever routine, too, incorporating the buzzers.
(Yes, Eric, I'm one of those who only watches the first few episodes to gawp at the truly delusional.)

It's a peculiar hypocrisy that during this politically correct epoch -when saying boo to a goose carries so perpetual risk of variable grade censure - that such grotesque exploitation is not just allowed but champoined, feted, even by the self same, sanctimonious media orators of society's other, behavioural constrictions.

Strange, isn't it. But perhaps, like in Roman times, it is tolerated because it keeps the great unwashed calm and allows them to vent their prejudices in a fairly harmless manner - bread and circuses etc. That's undoubtedly the effect but it's unlikely imo to be the result of any specifically conscious or conspiratorial decisions emanating from 'high office.'
Rather, it's an example of unfettered humanity tending towards depravity; perhaps it's natural condition.
Those 'in power' (media/government) are either too dim and/or possessing of masterful expediency to unsettle that base pulse of mob rule.
Of those in the latter category, they cannot be blamed but the status quo thus confirmed is a wretched reality: so yes, 2000 years and the baying still only abated by blood and a few loaves of bread.

The trouble with Diversity is that they are little more than a glorified Cheeleader act. There are 100 such highschool troops who do the same stuff in the States.
For a one off Royal Variety Show performance it had to have been Stavros, the most entertaining thing on tv all yr, the natural successor to The Sarge.
