phoenix' - 'Too Young' in particular.The Sigur Ros tunes in Vanilla Sky.
My favourite moment is in A Life Less Ordinary when Robert is digging his own grave and Celine is running to him, with REM - Leave pounding in the background Just Perfect.
Most of the music in Mulholland Drive is 'just right' too.
Clint mansel at the end of Smokin Aces dead reconing. This is a top top tune warning clip has spoilers.

The cook the theif the wife and his lover 'memorial' by Michael Nyman awsome. I drive like a loon if i have this on in the car it builds and so does my speed.
This give a little bit of an idea

But the best has to be philip Glass 'Prophecies' and 'pruit igo'which is in Watchmen. Abolutely fits in perfect with whats happenin in the movie at teh time.
both bits you can hear a bit of in the trailer

I think the Lalo Schifrin incidental music from a scene in Dirty Harry, where the killer is on the roof, is great, especially from about 3.15 onwards. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NmLG3uJrjNY&fea...
Top choice I prefer the music right at the begining where dirty harry goes uo to the roof of the sky scraper. Edited by Pesty on Thursday 30th July 21:09

This is the originalhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C4qxk7KhnHs
It was part of a film of mostly aerial shots of various landscapes, and this was to cover an Urban sort of feel

For me one of the best peices of music ever used in a film is the final 8minutes of "Last of the Mohicans".

Going to hell for this one, great pop song, godawful movie.

But at least it has Tara Reid pretending to play the drums

Something more civilised;

Lisa Gerrard's voice gives me goosebumps, and the Gladiator soundtrack was arguably some of Hans Zimmer's best work.
