Is the Simpsons TV show dead?
Discussion
Mostly the thing that pissed me off from season 10+ was not Homer saying d'oh but Homer saying 'waaa, waaa, waaaa' for 10 minutes each episode after dropping something on his foot or doing something really stupid.
He was always stupid before that, but not in such a patronising and unfunny manner!

I don't like the early Simpsons either, the focus on Bart, noticeably poor animation and bad lip syncing with the voices.
It became great when they changed that and found that the real hero of the show was Homer. Then it was brilliant but it went downhill after Maude died
It had more character then. Now it's too polished visually and it's definately lost it's charm. The later series are now just a vehicle for whichever celebrity happens to be making a cameo. It became great when they changed that and found that the real hero of the show was Homer. The earlier storylines were simple and effective. I loved Bart the General because it was well written and something you could relate to. Now they try to be "wacky" for the sake of it and it falls embarrasingly flat

A bit of a long watch, but this video completely echoes the thoughts I've been telling people whenever this subject comes up. Explains quite nicely why the reasons the jokes started to fall flat and just became another franchise, endlessly generating content for cash rather than the biting satire it was known for in the early days.
Speaking of dead shows, and excuse me if thisis hijacking, but what is with American Dad?
The episodes are scattered and air weeks in between each other. A new season started in December, ONE episode aired and then...nothing!!!
Doesnt matter anyway, it hasn't been funny at all for atleast 2 seasons. Apparantly Foxs idea of a "funnier and edgier" AD is to simply insert curse words into Rogers dialogue, thats about it.
As for The Simpsons, i have never been a fan. Never amused me in the least.
