Classic episode though, the guy Penny was with at the beginning was hilarious.

There's a phrase I sometimes use which seems appropriate - "dumb as a rock"

I've decided to start watching TBBT all over again from the very beginning - the difference in the characters is quite marked and pretty surprising. The odd thing is that Sheldon seems more switched on to life's "normalities" at the beginning than he is towards the end of season 3 in that he notices "real life" more.
