she represents the archetypal vapid, insincere, talentless mong that populate tv screens for no other reason that they dont fall to pieces in front a tv camera
Couldn't disagree more tbh (which isn't to say she hasn't done a lot of ste tv too), to the extent that I'd ask, do you actually know who she is? But each to their own as this is beginning to sound like I'm being a bunny boiler. Along with the likes of Lisa Tarbuck, she's comes across to me as very funny, intelligent, well read person.

I'd hazard a guess that her critical evaluation skills and, possibly, cultural knowledge/referencing are considerably better than most too.

I always thought woss was very wooden in his presentation of that show.
Professional, though.

I have seen her in a handful of quiz/comedy shows (8 out of 10 cats and the like), fronting tv appeals (stuff like children in need) and in various other shows. I struggle to remember their names because they're usually dreadful and she's never struck me as well read in any way. Ultimately the BBC want viewing figures and a 'face' like her may well improve the programmes performance in some way. I just find it a deeply disappointing decision.

He wasnt great but he was clearly fairly well versed in film and I thought his opinions were considered. I didnt agree with a lot of his reviews but he was fairly honest in that he declared his tastes and that was his job as a reviewer.

She's not that widely known though?! I really doubt many people know who she is.

Disappointed you may be, fair enough, I'll reserve judgement until I've seen her in action, if for nothing else other than she clearly IS well read and intelligent.

At the end of the day it's a programme about films, not, about rocket science.

That would be a bad idea. I love the guy, but cynical and deprecating is his trademark.

I was suprised to hear she'd got the role as I assume her to be another version of Davina McCall, but we could yet be suprised on it.

Wossy was certainly very good in the job so she has to do a lot of work to replace him
