Having quite enjoyed the modern remake of The Prisoner, I thought I'd better watch the original series. Only a few episodes in so far but loving it, and can't believe I never watched it before. So what other classic TV shows might I have missed out on?

Thinking I might have to get my hands on the Avengers just to letch at Dianna Rigg.

The Persuaders - Forgot about that, I've seen a few episodes, bight have to dig a few out and see what I think. That's also reminde me I should probably take a look at The Saint too.

Man in a suitcase - Not heard of that one, Wikipedia reckons it was a replacement for McGoohan's Danger Man. Is that any good as well?

Hawaii Five-0 - Seen the odd clip, but don't think Ive' seen any whole episodes

It seems my classic TV education is sorelay lacking. I'm from the Donald P Bellisario and Glen A Larson generation so a lot of good stuff passed me by biggrin

Classic among cop shows, with the best intro to any. smile - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AepyGm9Me6w

I never saw Danger Man so can't comment on that one.

Ps. Chris Evans used the theme music to Man in a Suitcase on his TFI Friday shows. - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sevbNtkIzH8

Is "The Sweeney" old enough to be classic ?

Even if it's not, then the early shows are still worth watching.... "get yer trousers on, yer nicked" and not forgetting the immortal "we're the sweeney son, and we haven't had our dinner yet"

Prisoner: Cell Block H.

From a distance it looks like the crappiest, cheapest, prison set with poor acting. Start following it and there are some serious dark themes and undertones.
