Watched this over the weekend too (with Harry Brown - very good, Law Abiding Citizen - acceptable and fairly cleverish, Daybreakers - looked okay but very average) and I thought it was fantastic, it's basically an Americanised version of SOTD so it's never going be as good but Woody and the little kid kind of steal it for me and the woman, Emma Stone is fairly nice to look at along the way too.
Good film.
Good film.

They're already talking about a sequel, but there is an issue with sequels and zombie films, which is incorporated at the end of 28 Days Later. The zombies will eventually die out.
It depends what kind of zombie. In 28DL they were basically infected humans, which would die. Traditional zombies are the walking dead so can't die, as they arent alive./zombologist

And Zombieland is more of a black comedy than a serious film discussing the finer elements of zombies.

I definately found it over-rated, but still a good film, if that makes sense.
It does make sense. The main over-rating bit had to be Bill Murray, although he was playing himself. The Bill Murray bit I thought was pointless and just looked stitched in to say 'Starring Bill Murray'
Really expected so much more.
Shawn of the Dead is better.

So wanted to watch this at the pics, love Zombie films but missed it...I will just wait till it's on normal telly now
You can rent it on DVD? I like to go to the pics, bit of an experience, if I miss it then I wait till telly and todays climate that isn't 10 years like it used to be...I wish we had bargain cinemas like in the USA, where they show older films for lower prices, that is a cracking idea, which sadly the big chains here only do on Directors Tuesday or something.

That is true. But I hate the cinema, too many people eating too noisily ruins the film for me, so I prefer to rent/buy them and watch them at home (also means I can wonder off to get more food/drink at leisure and not miss the film). It is also oddly quite often almost as cheap to buy a DVD as to rent these days! And far cheaper to buy than to go to the cinema.
