Breaking Bad follows protagonist Walter White (Bryan Cranston), a chemistry teacher who lives in New Mexico with his wife (Anna Gunn) and teenage son (RJ Mitte) who has cerebral palsy. White is diagnosed with Stage III cancer and given a prognosis of two years left to live. With a new sense of fearlessness based on his medical prognosis, and a desire to secure his family's financial security, White chooses to enter a dangerous world of drugs and crime and ascends to power in this world. The series explores how a fatal diagnosis such as White's releases a typical man from the daily concerns and constraints of normal society and follows his transformation from mild family man to a kingpin of the drug trade.

Anyone else been watching this? As far as I'm aware it's not aired in the UK yet but I'm sure you'll be able to get hold of it to watch if you want.

I'd seriously recommend it. One of the best TV shows I've ever watched. It's in between season 3 and 4 at the moment but I don't think season 4 is going to be airing until this time next year, so plenty of time to catch up!

I 'found' the first 3 seasons after a recommendation on here.

Absolutley superb! The change in Walt through to the end of S2 and then again by mid-point in S3 is massive. Great characters and acting by all with excellent directing and scenes. Quirky, violent, thought provoking and sometimes downright funny. Highly recommended.

Really looking forward to S4 after such a great end to S3.

rsv gone!

I found it on tv.com a couple of years back whilst looking for new stuff to watch, based upon user scores.

Excellent and so dark. Jessie can be a bit annoying, though.

I agree about Jessie. He doesn't seem to learn as much as Walt does.
S3 Jessie is very similar to S1 Jessie, just with a little more science knowledge.

I'm finding it hard to see how S4 is going to work though. It should without a doubt be the last series they make.

MASSIVE SPOILERS HERE

Jut watched the 3rd series of this. The end of the 2nd was a disappointment; all those hints of what was to come, the bits floating in the pool, and it ended up being a plane crash, mostly unconnected to the plot really. Its seemed like a let-down and I think maybe they weren't confident of a 3rd series.

But they got one, and its been good. I'd agree with the points above about character arc; Walt has become someone who runs dealers over and executes them with their own guns. Who saw that in his future when we watched the start of series 1? We saw a hint of it at the end of series one with his ultimatum to Tuco, and blowing up his office, but this is becoming a man who will do simply anything. He quite clearly sees Jessie as a son now, who must be protected at all costs.

Jessie does continue to annoy. He is such a child, proved by his handling of the dealers who ordered the death of his mate. Who cares? Its business, and his mate was in the wrong place, and they all knew it at the time. Jessie is several levels above the street crap now, and is making millions. Grow up.

I do feel sorry for Gail. Though it looks like the moment that Jessie takes the step into being a killer that Walt has already taken.

Series 4 is filming, and will debut in July, so only a few months to wait.

What next? We must see a calming of the relationship between the main bad guy (forgotten his name, Mr Chicken I'll call him) and Walt. I do think Jessie's actions in having the dealers killed were right, and Mr Chicken has acted far too angrily about it. He wants Walt and Jessie dead and that wont happen, but neither can he be killed. He is not Tuco, and his network is too large to be taken over by Walt and Jessie.

I honestly don't know what will happen next.

I felt sorry for Gail too - he seemed like a really nice bloke and only too keen to please Walt.

Jessie drives me utterly insane. He keeps doing stupid things and I constnatly think to myself that it would all be lovely if Jessie wasn't there. But then, there'd be no story hehe

That was mike from season three. I couldn't see any new footage in this trailer, just old stuff.
