Oh, doesn't bode well for us recording the series! The trailers looked good.

They all are.

I missed the first 10 minutes, is there a particular reason why the submarine appears to be full of pointless crew including several whinning teenagers?

I might miss the rest and check up on Wikipedia at a later date to find out what the big mystrey was.

I concur with all the above; this is a stinker, 5* weapons grade ste. Sub-Melrose Place crud on a submarine in peril; BBC Drama, hang your collective head in shame.

hehe

I was looking at the TV listings earlier, and saw that "The Deep" was on BBC1. I thought, "Great! Mrs k likes the story, and I like Jacquline Bisset in a wet t-shirt".

Disappointed, I was, after hitting the "information" button irked

I expect Captain Kirk will come to the rescue in the next episode.
But yes, the acting is dire and, the script seems to be all over the place.

The advert for it looked bad enough, so I didn't even bother trying to watch the show.....

Scene: quiet afternoon in BBC Drama commissioning dept. Keen interns flit hither with overpriced buckets of gritty brown liquid in paper cups, couscous and falafel pockets, and the occasional empty binder. Camera settles on desk of assistant to the assistant deputy editor of sci-fi tosh(submarine).

FX: phone rings

Ms. Lever-Arch: Hello, commissioning; Jocasta speaking?

Michael Grade(for it is he):[crackly line] This is Michael Grade; can we have our badly scripted rubbish with overpriced A-listers hamming it up back please? I know you have a budget squeeze too, but it's the only thing we're good at. The Leerdammer cheese people are giving me earache over finding a replacement for 'Heartbeat'.

I wondered where they had all been hiding ever since Bill Oddie disappeared off Kate Humble's Badger Watch.

Was anyone else really glad when that character got killed near the end, they were highly irritating. I was looking forward to this, reminded me of the book The Sphere by Michael Crichton but it was just terrible on almost every level.

You have to wonder why the BBC puts things like Being Human on BBC 3 and Rev on BBC 2 but gives crap like this a prime time slot on BBC 1.

Shocking.

Some of the most wooden acting I have seen in some time.

When Minnie Driver cam on screen I thought it was a spoof!
