The Deep - BBC1
Discussion
Can't be bothered to watch it, even if it does have eye candy like Vera Filatova in it - http://www.imdb.com/name/nm2523661/
Dire; this is so bad it's disobeying the normal rules, a redraft is required to accommodate.
Bloody Brilliant>Good>Average>Mediocre>Poor>st>SoBadIt'sGood>Utterst>The Deep.
This is so bad it's actually causing me physical pain, and I'm a connoisseur of tat; I liked 'the Protectors' and that 'Invasion Earth' UFO rubbish with Maggie O'Neill.

I saw last week but missed the start tonight. People talking Russian and some kind of autopsy.Dire isn't it.
Any news on the big thing that captured them all in week one?
It's just a Russian sub, looking for oil with some new radar that's killing everyone.Any news on the big thing that captured them all in week one?
Well that for me was the worst episode of the lot. Up until now I have been able to suspend my disbelief, but that was absolutely shocking and an affront to anyone with a modicum of intelligence.
[SPOILER]
The bit that really annoyed me was their pathetic excuse for why they wouldn't be able to go back - come on a solution to world's energy crisis and there would be an embargo on going back.
And how could they not have noticed that their sub had suddenly taken on about 100-200 tons of water.
I will stick it out until the end now, but it is garbage. My theory is that Jimmy Nesbitt had seen the ratings and he was actively trying to commit suicide at the end of that episode.

Correct me if I'm wrong here....
But to have a moon pool then the room in which the moon pool is situated would have to be at the same pressure as the water.
If they're supposed to be a million billion feet down wouldn't the pressure in the room be untenable for humans?
yes indeed - so them sitting in said room chatting before was balls - oh except they added a pressure lock when e went back in which hadn't existed before! But to have a moon pool then the room in which the moon pool is situated would have to be at the same pressure as the water.

The annoying thing is that (for me) the overall premise has meant we've kept watching to find out what happens and most of the acting is decent - but the writing...oh my god, its just terrible.
how many more situations can they engineer which either don't exist or require retardedness to set into motion and then further retardedness to not fix. very disappointing cos there's something really good there somewhere
