He should be on income support considering he could've been worth nearer £1bn. I mean he did lose £650m...

From what I’m reading Depp has risen in my estimation.

A proper, mental rock star.

I get fed up with sanitised celebrities driving around in a Prius and eating vegetables.

Depp personifies what is wanna be like if I had that money and access. Yachts, islands, houses. Drugs, crazy women. I love it all.

Are parents up in arms and boycotting his films, not letting Jemima watch the bad man.

Like hell they are. He will be bigger than ever.

It’s great PR.

Was never a fan before but I sure am now.

I love that she showed a photo of him passed out eating ice cream and expected that to provoke ridicule. That guy's living the dream!

We've seen him play with a LOT of different artists and bands over the years without wanting to draw attention to himself as welll as being happy to make cameos on UK comedies beneath a "star" of his size such as The Fast Show and Vicar Of Dibley.

Mostly though, we've all seen the numerous GOSH appearances in character and heard why he does them. He's shown repeatedly that he has a lot of time for this country and I suspect as a result the support will be reciprocated.

Best bit for me so far is that he said his accountants/advisors or whatever 'stole' about $650 million (yes, 650 million) from him and he was embarrassed to say he earned that much from the Pirates films.

Or similar, can't find the original snippet.
Did they steal it or were they just so terrible at money shuffling that they bought a load of Enron/Worldcom stock and were then occupied hiding the loss and 'forgot' the IRS? hehe frankly this is more interesting than Heard telling whoppers.

I bet he doesn’t, just like I won’t want another litre
of vodka when the bottle in the freezer is empty.

This. They're both as bad as each other, and why on earth he would want to air his dirty laundry in public (for want of a better phrase) I have no idea!

I do love Depp though, even if most of his films have somewhat flopped. hehe

"It was put to me this way, because I had no idea about money or amounts of money: since Pirates 2 and 3, I had – and this is ludicrous to have to state, it's quite embarrassing – apparently I had made $650 million.

"And when I sacked [the former business managers], for the right reasons, I had not only lost $650 million, but I was $100 million dollars in the hole because they had not paid the government my taxes for 17 years."
So he lost $650m, plus owed $100m in taxes (so total loss was $750m) and he doesn't do anything about it? No legal proceedings, no nothing. And now he is worth what, $250m. He expects anyone to believe he lost 3 times his overall net worth and the thieves got away free?

It just doesnt add up.
