Has anybody else watched this program on the History channel ?

I think the word incredible is mentioned way too many times, but having just watched it, incredible is the only word that I can use to sum up the whole program.

Having watched other programs on the subject, you always seem left with a questions that annoying remain unanswered. This program seems to answer those questions as to are we alone etc. Whether they are right or wrong is another matter, but the evidence given seems......well.....just incredible. biggrin

Well worth a watch. thumbup

None of these programs answer the question. All of the editions on aliens, yeti, Loch ness etc, all have zero in the way of conclusion. Pointless, to a degree.

I've seen plenty on it, not that particular show (although i might have done) but if you bear in mind most civilisations end up forming an idea that "god" is above them in the sky, then drawing big pictures for god is a nice thing to do.

Even if god would just say "ah.. that's so sweet!" and stick it on the fridge door.

No, I'm in the US, but if it is the one about aliens coming to earth years ago, and their pictures being in the pyramids, (Cambodian, and Egyptian), as well as the meso-american temples, then yes, either that one, or one like it. It's origins are from a book by someone or other "chariots in the sky" or something like that.

Erich Von Daniken was the author of a number of books in the late 60s and mid 70s - "Chariots of teh Gods" was the most famous one. Most of these programmes are based loosely on the contents of these 40 plus year old books. All of what Van Daniken asserted has been refuted for decades by archaeologists and historians and the fact that he served a prison sentence for fraud does lead me to believe that he may not be that careful about the truth.

If IIRC yes I think that book was mentioned in the program.

The start of the program shows artifacts thousands of years ago, from Columbia I think, that are in the shape of Planes and resemble nothing in nature. They then build scale models of them and fly them.

It ends up trying to explain how the pyramids may have been were built, what they were used for and why.

When is it repeated? I was interested in those sort of books (alternate history) back in the 90s, Graham Hancock, Giorgio de Santillana, Colin Wilson, Charles Hapgood et al.
Some of it good, some of it less so.

Can't find anything in the listings but found the program on youtube. It's a long program so get comfy with lots of popcorn thumbup

Things like the carved granite stones ( which I've never seen before ) that apparently, so we are taught, carved by hand with simple tools rofl. The stone mason in the program says to produce the quality with what they had doesn't make sence. My old man, was a stone mason for over 45 years, will see what his opinion is. smile

Also maps ( so long as they aren't fake ) showing antarctica at a time when apparently it hadn't even been discovered are just face slapping IMO.

If any of it were true, they would have to be so advanced that they made a reliable sat-nav and I can't ever believe that.
