I thought disappointing, but must have been difficult with 5-6 major characters missing.

Certain tell they have new writers.

I actually liked the new characters, thought they were funny.
Apart from the chubby girl trying to wear a slim girls bikini.

Didn't realise there was a new series on - I assume because STV up in Scotland and ITV south of the border are currently 'in dispute' that it's not a series that STV has bought off the network.

Have Sky+'d it on ITV London for next week though. Think there is a repeat of the 1st episode of the new series on ITV2 HD tonight.

Disppointed but still quite watchable. I thought the caravan site story line was pants and we missed the old characters. Give it another chance eh?

It did get better as it went along, there was a real laugh out loud moment for me but I forget what it was now

The Karate fight was funny-ish. Madge walking along the side of the pool as she re entered the programme was a killer. What a mess she was. Genuinely shocking.

It's always had a leaning to dark humour that can strike as a sad drama at times. I have high hopes for the new series despite the changes.

Wasn't impressed, to be honest. I don't find many of the characters funny, more cringeworthy.

Watched the 1st episode of the new series last night and I also thought it was pretty poor. The loudmouth new girl at the pool was just annoying, and Cilla was annoying, and the guy in the pool with some sort of learning difficulties was annoying, the large gay guy (the grumpy one) was annoying, the transvestite barman was annoying, they scouse white-haired hotel employee was annoying.

Everyone - annoying.

I can excuse the xmas special with the loss of Mel ect.. But apart from Mrs Garvey there isnt much left of any interest!

Vegas can do grim and grotty really well - but even when he calls it a day you know its time to stop flogging the dead donkey.

Shame.

I am actually pleased he has left, I thought he was the worst thing in it, I would like to see his mum come back however.

This show has got to be the worst piece of shat I have ever seen.

I have seen some of the older ones and they are OK but this new series is dog st.

THere are good bits...but not enough, it's all getting stretched rather thin.

Don't like the new stupid kid character, it is awful.

I have persisted as I like spotting the locations but the script is appalling and the acting is horrendous - not because they're bad actors but because of the way they have to deliver the lines - everything is aggressive.

As for the characters, they're all very irritating.

Same here, very realistic i've been in most of the bars, used the one shaped like a ship lots. Only thing missing is sticky vicky but i suppose shes not safe for TV
