Pedantic point here, but it is a shame they didn't actually do the Jag feature from the most westerly point* on the British mainland, but had they done so even on the shortest day it might have been quite a challenge!

I doubt they really did do it on the shortest day, wouldn't there have still been a few druids, hippies and police milling about a certian point on the the A303?

Plus can you imagine, you've set up this spectacular challenge, Clarkson and camera cars blatting all over the south of the country, you've got special permission from Lowestoft council to drive up to Ness Point, council has had the graffiti cleaners out to give the place a bit of a spruce up (true that happened) and you get there within seconds of sunrise, and.....

bugger, clouds, raining.

Smoke, mirrors, and who would have it any other way?

Well we know it's a bit of a tedious film, but we sat all the way on the M5 and M4, and because we had plenty of time in hand here's Jezza having a "no HP sauce available for his bacon sarnie crisis" by the old fish docks.

This series really seemed to suffer by doing reviews of cars (when they did occasionally do reviews of cars) that were 6 months past their release date - classic example the XJ feature this week filmed way back in the summer, but virtually everything else too. Not noticed a problem with making it current before. Got all excited about them when they came out but old news now - but maybe that's just a problem for us fanatics who have already read about everything new in evo rather than the general light entertainment audience.

Clarkson always does the SIARPC interviews. Time for a change, methinks. Give the interviews to James May for at least one series. He's already proved that he has good people skills.

There was a rear 3/4 close-up slow-mo shot in there of the F40 lighting up the rears as it started the drag race...

..I'll have that as an A3 sized frame print please.
