fox freesat or sky +
Discussion
I just switched from basic Sky+ to Humax Foxsat PVR and the only real difference that I actually care about is the lack of the Discovery channnels. However, they haven't made any new car shows/series worth watching for years now, all we get are 10th repeats of Overhaulin' and American Chopper etc., so no great loss there methinks.
Other than that I'll be quids in after less than a year and no monthly charge. Excellent.

I'm thinking of junking the Sky+ for FreeSat+ or Freeview+ but I am sure going to miss being able to set the recorder with my phone.
Are there any plans to have this facility with the other systems. I can see that it would be hard to implement as the Sky boxes are all matched to each household account and the record signal goes back to your house via the satellite downlink.

This looks like it has similar functionality. May be worth looking into.

Interesting but the boxes are made by Technika who also do the cheap supermarket flat screen tellies. Is that good or bad, I don't know. This looks like it has similar functionality. May be worth looking into.
