Gone in 60 Seconds (the nick cage one) when they steal the porsche at the start from the showroom. They key number was in 5 figures (normally only 3), was actually in the right place on the board, the car started first turn (bound to of had a flat battery), it also had fuel in it.
Seriously?Of all the unbelievable-ness in that film, notably
- Breaking into a warehouse with millions of dollars-worth of Ferraris in it by simply bridging a wire.
- Launching a Mustang 150 feet over a bridge and it landing in one piece
- The coincidence of 100 top-end cars including an XJ220 and several classics all being within an area of max 20 miles of one another thereby being easy to nick and move.
Star Wars and its ilk - Great battles between starships just like 18th century sea battles. But then just shifting some small asteroids into the path of near-light speed ships doesn't have quite the same visual impact, does it?
(Actually, virtually anything with technology in it, it's always mis-represented under 'artistic licence')

Independence day, the whole thing was just a bit far fetched y'know.
Especially that the 'advanced aline civilisation' only had small ships whose principle weapons were line of sight targetted.
I just couldn't suspend my disbelief at that point.
You never got to the uploading a virus via mac to kill the mothership then? Especially that the 'advanced aline civilisation' only had small ships whose principle weapons were line of sight targetted.
I just couldn't suspend my disbelief at that point.
I mean, how did they even connect into the network? (shoddy Alien security?) and were the Aliens running windows?

I once drove past the house of a guy and I stopped as I saw two Ferraris in his driveway. As I crawled on, there was not two, but six - one of every one I could think of from the last 10 -15 years. And a Bentley for good measure.
I think I have a pic somewhere...
